Great restaurant for fresh seafood. We were greeted by a very friendly woman who took us to a table of our choosing. She graciously asked if we wanted a drink while we were waiting. She then delivered the largest serving of wine we had ever had! We ordered the smoked fish spread and it is the very best! The conch... More

It's a house converted into a wonderful restaurant! They serve the freshest food, right off their boat. The service is excellent. Love it!

The ultimate in "shacks". Servers are quick efficient and friendly and the food is FRESH, they don't write up the menu until 1PM because it depends on the fish caught that day! Try the blackened grouper or the the amber jack which I believe is better but both are superb. For starters the crab cakes or the peel 'em yourself... More

A nice, little restaurant. Recommended by a local friend (we are here only for Nov to May) for the fresh fish. The fish was an ample but not large portion. It came with a cole slaw that I didn't care for (lack of flavor) and a rather plain "dirty rice" (my term, not theirs). Pro: fish portion Cons: could use... More

We've only eaten at, well, maybe a couple hundred fish joints (loosely termed), and Waltz is one of the very few that make the "never again" list. I am absolutely good with tab of $100-125 for two to three folks, so I wasn't surprised with the $120.00 ticket for three. Of course, one had a side salad, which was the... More

My wife loved the soup, the rice, the key lime pie. She liked the fried shrimp. I liked the chowder a lot, loved the key lime pie but was disappointed a little with the fried shrimp. I felt the shrimp tasted fine but was over priced for what they served.

We got there about 15 minutes before opening and met a lot of nice people while we were waiting. The chalk board menu was out front so we had some time to review. We were a party of 4 and we sat at the bar ( our favorite place to sit) we loved everything we ate. The fresh key west... More

Great fish and even better ambiance! Great to have clarity in the menu choice and when it's gone it's gone! That's fresh fish! Fish bowl sized wine glasses...full! And even a fun bit of attitude thrown in by the wait staff/owner. Key lime pie...yummie! Just like Arnold says 'I'll be back!'

Chlorine-soaked shrimp from Vietnam and other farm source are served at Walt'z. Avoid if you care about see food. Consider real, local frutti del mare at, say shrimpie - or other non-cheating restaurants.

We discovered Walt's Fish Shak last year and once we did, we've eaten there 5 times! Adorable, quirky little place at the end of John's Pass Village that has a sandwich board on the porch featuring the menu of the evening. What's on the board is what they have - you can't order a burger and fries - just what's... More
