A local favorite, Downtown Cafe will usually be pretty full at lunch time, which is the only time it is open, so getting there around 11:30 am is optimal. Folks seem to like almost everything on the menu, but I'm absolutely stuck on their waldorf...chicken salad or sandwich. Everything's made from scratch and fabulous! I like their waldorf chicken salad so much that I call it in to pick up and take home on my way home from the gym. I'm very picky in the quality of my meat and the white meat used for their recipe is top notch! Definitely worth a stop, but don't forget, they close at 2pm so open for lunch only!More

While traveling through, my friend and I stopped for a bite. The half chicken cordon bleu with honey mustard satisfied my appetite and tastebuds perfectly. Service was attentive and location was quaint.

Have you ever told your mother or your aunt that their food was so good they should open a restaurant? That is what the Down Town Cafe is like. While the food may not be upscale or five star dining; it IS good home-cooked style...food. There is a familial nostalgia about the food that makes you feel at home and you always leave having a good meal. Great lunch option for Live Oak!More

Stopped in for lunch. The signage for the cafe is easy to is, but it is on the corner of Howard. You order at the front counter and the menu is on the wall, as well as printed. Sandwiches were excellent! We had a chicken...salad on a baguette and a chicken bacon ranch wrap. Both were extremely fresh, large portions and very good. The potato salad was also very good. All of the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend stopping by here for lunch if you are in the area.More

Good food, Good price. The menu is on the wall so if it's your first time here be prepared to take some extra time to stand in line. We borrowed a printed menu and sat down to browse it. I've included a picture of the...menu to get you started.More

Since I discovered the Chicken Waldorf Salad on a croissant, I have ordered it several times. The roll is always fresh and is packed to over flowing with chicken salad. The sandwich can be grilled or not. I can only eat half and save the...other half for lunch the next day. A choice of a side is included. The potato salad is creamy. The fruit salad was pretty ordinary. The broccoli cheese soup could become addictive. This is a popular place for a weekday lunch with friends or coworkers.More

Nice family operated sandwich lunch break. Food is prepared to your order, always fresh and a sandwich, not a sub only joint. Not open on weekends but great during the week.

This is a family owned cafe that offers fresh, homemade soup, salad, sandwiches and deserts. It has been in Live Oak for 11 years and has a spotless reputation for great food, served fast, fresh and by friendly folks. The atmosphere is casual, homespun and...immaculate. Tell Tina and Mark that Bill sent you.More
