I ordered a burrito with rice, beans, onion and lettuce.avocado on the side. I eat vegan. When it arrived, I took a bite and gagged! Packed FULL of avocado and guacamole with sour cream and cilantro. Very small line of rice small line of beans. I told...waitress upon ordering that I didn't like avocado, the reason it was on the side, can't stand cilantro. Waitress got irritated when I asked her to remove it from the check, charged me for a side of avocado. When I was at register paying, the cook just learned angrily at me.I can find another place to spend my money.More

This place is a hidden gem, as the well stocked retail store almost hides the restaurant. It s one of the few places where the waitress seems to excel in telling you the specials and how to get whatever you want. The food is consistently...good and the prices are very low,More

This is a great place to get authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is in a grocery story so you will enjoy shopping and browsing afterwards. The food was fresh and very tasty.

Actually reminds me of a restaurant in the Yucatán... so if I say authentic, you probably get my drift. Has to be the most entertaining "entrance" to a restaurant in Florida... in through the grocery store... which incidently you should take the time to browse...before or after eating. Tried the cheese stuffed peppers (excellent), and my friends had the fajitas... which they loved. Ice-cold beer, friendly service. A great experience!More

If you are in Live Oak looking for a Mexican restaurant, look no more. Pepe's has great food at a reasonable price. Don't be surprised if you see the local hispanics eating there, it's that good! The restaurant is in the back of a Mexican...grocery store next to a sketchy laundry place. No worries, the food is worth it! I always stop in for at least one meal when I'm in the area diving.More

Really delicious real Mexican food without everything drowned in the same sauce. You will probably be the only Gringo in there, but they are always friendly and English is excellent.

Where to start? Well for starters I should of heeded the other reviews on trip advisor of this place. But I just had to try this place. So just calling to get in touch with the store by phone, sadly proved difficult, (though it shouldn't...of been) since we had a lot of static coming from their end of the phone line, that ended in a lot of return calls (from me) calling back the restaurant due to dropped calls. Then a lot of hang-ups from the restaurants end. (I really wanted those tacos!) But whomever took my 1st order (a female) was kind enough to call me back on her personal cell phone, so that I could place my pick up order. :) But I should of knew something was amiss when we ordered 6 tacos (reg) & a chimichanga. (a loaded burrito with a small side of rice & refried beans) & our total came to $46.00. Well after picking up a menu from pepe's (since the correct menu is not online) we figured out that they charged us for items that also had the title "taco" in it. (I think they called it a "pepe taco" on our receipt) We also ordered the large salsa & was charged $7.86 for that. (it wasn't until after receiving the menu did we find out that they over charged us for that as well.) But this wasn't discovered until after we had placed a 2nd order with them. The 2nd order. I told the person taking the pickup order to NOT put cilantro on anything. And proceeded to tell her how it tastes like warped mint leaf/clove. She said "ok no problem" & repeated the order back to me. My husband picked up the order & of course everything was COVERED in cilantro. ( I didn't find this out until he brought the order home.) I immediately called back, informed them of the problem & instead of fixing the problem, instead argued with me saying "well she (I'm assuming the female that took my order) said that you didn't say no cilantro." So I asked for a supervisor. Ha! They told me that the supervisor wasn't in that day & proceeded to try & argue with me again about WHAT I SAID. Um sorry. But I KNOW what I said. I made a point of it. & the "no cilantro" part was even read back to me via phone. They ended up hanging up on me. SO if you like sheety service, getting a different order, other than what YOU the PAYING customer paid/asked for, then this is the place for you! And the steak tacos 2nd order (with the picked off cilantro, though the taste still permeates thru the taco) wasn't anything special. The steak was nothing but white grisly fat pieces & the little bit of meat was so chewy it was inedible.More

Once again I try to place a to go order and it takes multiple calls of up to twenty rings. Then the girl at the register skips me and I have to ask why. I called the manager on the way out, but of course...no answer. I advised him of the problem of having a jack up pick up order when they don't answer, but apparently he can't fix that problem. I will be editing my reviews on the web due to your new standard.More
