So glad we found this gem of a restaurant...loved the atmosphere, great dining experience and cool lil bar...hate that we had to drive home next am:-( We have already recommended to friends, and we will plan our future stops to land in this cute town...just to dine here!!! This restaurant was awesome! I had venison and my husband had the filet. Probably one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. Definitely eat here for a wonderful dinner.

While driving back from Tallahassee we needed to stop for lunch. Live Oak didn't have lot of choices right off the interstate but this was worth the 8 mile drive. The building is a little old when driving up but the inside is charming. We...all loved what we had. I had the shrimp, potatoes and broccoli and it was made to perfection and I love shrimp! My friend had the chicken pear salad and it was huge. She took home half. Another had the Texas toast grill cheese sandwich with curly fries and that was truly a mega grill cheese. Worth getting if you love grill cheese. Both friends had the chowder soup and it was full of meat. For dessert we shared the bread pudding. I have never had bread pudding but I am now a fan. By 3:00pm we were the only customers eating lunch and were treated like queens. I would highly recommend this place.More

Absolutely delicious meal in a gorgeous old two story home. We had the black eye pea hummus to start, ribeyes for dinner, and the most AMAZING bread pudding I’ve ever had in my entire life for dessert! This place is truly a gem!

Skimming along Interstate 10, we used Trip Advisor to find out where others recommend going for lunch in Live Oak, Florida. We saw 116 reviews, so we picked The 406, Southern Cuisine, which is located at 406 Duval. The Victorian style house is charming; front...porch with tall pillars, high ceilings inside with pine wood floors and large, lazy ceiling fans over white table clothed, flower centered tables. The fireplaces have mirrors at the back, with candles, faux jewels of green, brown, blue and white and tiny white lights twinkling, reflecting, enchanting from the floor. The stained glass window artwork is for sale, and heartwarming. The crab bisque was phenomenal and the crab cakes were sautéed then baked. The lemon sauce was an amazing uplift to the pallet, and oh how I wanted to lick the plate! The Chef Chris is outstanding and our waiter was wonderfully efficient, warm and friendly. We highly recommend this hidden gem as we are seafood lovers from New England and we know good, fresh seafood when we taste it!More
