We are so happy we went to Maria's and experienced the true old time restaurant experience. Seafood was outstanding and Maria is priceless. Don't go if you expect fancy surroundings and anything upscale. Do go if you want great seafood and the experience of a lifetime. You won't find another place like it !

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Not crowded at all, fabulous fresh seafood, and very cool outdoor patio right on the water. Great atmosphere and service was impeccable. Maria's son is VERY polite!!

It's concerning to read about your experience. It sounds like you went through quite some trouble to get what you were looking for, and I'd like to apologize for any inconveniences. We were close for construction on the roof for about two months .That being said, in the year since you left this review, we've made great strides in our... More

Still great after all these years, I'd hate to have to count the number of times we've been to Maria's, but the food's still great. And yes it still looks like hell, but the food is really special. the fish is fresh and super tasty we also had a bowl of gumbo to share this time, it was very good,... More

Other descriptions written here are pretty accurate! Looks a little scary and that bathroom next door is a little scary, but the food was good. I did order a salad and our waiter said they were out of salad! The exterior dining area is an assortment of tables and chairs and they do not serve liquor/wine/beer, but for $1.50 (I... More

First off the food was very good. But this place is not for everyone. Here are a few things you need to know. If you blink you'll drive right past it. The parking lot is very small. The place is very small and is basically an enclosed shack and not much to look at in or out (it was however... More

This place is over the bridge from Fort Myers Beach. It is an older, very small place that is considered a shack but the fish, coleslaw, and potatoes were some of the best EVER. I hope they never (have to) change the atmosphere as it is part of it's character. Don't judge until you eat the food. Don't go if... More

We was recommended the restaurant by the hotel, and it was a good choice. The restaurant was full when we arrive, but 10 minutes later there was a table free. Extremely good service, excellent food, and the best bones we have had in a loooong time.

After eating fried shrimp at many places, Maria's is the freshest and most delicious!!! If you love shrimp, it is a MUST try.

Maria's Smokehouse and Seafood Restaurant features a zesty Cajun menu, great drinks, and award winning dishes. With remarkable smoked seafood and dockside patio seating, Maria's exceeds anything in the area. Our restaurant may look a little unimpressive from the outside, but don't judge a book by it's cover. Enter and you'll find a dining establishment full of kitschy character. Your taste buds will explode when you indulge into our menu, from our 2012 Best Dish Award Crawfish Etouffee to our wildly popular gumbo, everything pops with unforgettable taste. All dishes are seasoned with secret blends of spices taken from our little garden plots and pots around the restaurant that are bursting with fresh herbs and spices. No short cuts here at all. For all around best food, a zesty Cajun taste, and great drinks, Maria's exceeds anything in the area. This is THE place to dine.
