So much to praise at The Hare's Corner: ♡ Top class in food and customer service. ♡ Management are very attentive, accommodating and generous. ♡ The skilled kitchen and floor teams go above and beyond to cater for customers, ensuring great attention to detail. ♡...Wonderful atmosphere where management, staff and patrons are friendly and down to earth. ♡ Premises is visually pristine clean, really well maintained. ♡ Quirky, fun and tastefully designed interiors. ♡ Mountmellick's big heart shines through in this restaurant. I’ve often stopped off here when en-route to / from Portlaoise and I’ve always been more than satisfied with the lovely choice of food available, the homely atmosphere and the great level of customer service I received. My experience today, however, has surpassed all my...expectations. To the staff member who listened to me and served my son and I earlier this morning, I cannot say a big enough thank you. What a lovely, kind person you are. I’m sorry I don’t know your name, but once again, thank you so much. The owners of this restaurant are so lucky to have you working with them. Well done to all.More

Went here last weekend with my daughter and my parents. We had been here a few times before for lunch but decided this time we would try the breakfast. All I can say is WOW, hands down one of the best breakfasts I have ever had...out. My daughter couldn’t decide between a breakfast and porridge so the lovely waitress suggested a small bowl of porridge first, which she was delighted with! I had the full Irish , there was so much food, I just couldn’t finish it!Everything on the plate was really tasty and presented so well Couldn’t believe the price, will definitely be backMore

After visiting the museum next door we stopped at Hares Corner for a cup of tea and found it a bustle of activity. Many diners were filling their plates in cafeteria style. The choices looked quite good.More

Hi Orla. Thank you so much for your review. An American Indian saying states that "you judge a society by how it treats its elderly." Our restaurant follows that same philosophy. Thrilled that our food stood up to scrutiny too! Our staff will be delighted....More

14 of us decended on them just before lunchtime and they conjured up lovely soup, sandwiches and a gluten free option. They even provided a takeaway dish for the leftover sandwiches. We were very impressed with the service.More

Stopped here en route from Wexford to Mayo. Me and my dog. Had a gorgeous toasted ham cheese onion and tomato sandwich which came with a beautiful salad and a good coffee. When I asked where to take my dog for a little wee walk,...I was offered a drink of water for her. Very friendly staff. All the food looked delicious and reasonably priced. The toilets are on the ground floor - for anyone with mobility problems to know, lots of parking space. Easy access as it's located on the edge of town coming from Portlaoise on the N80. I can highly recommend The Hares Corner.More
