Best place to eat in Deland PERIOD! Desserts are to die for. Service is great. Don't be turned off because it is a buffett. I don't like buffets but this is sooo different

We were surprised that there were different prices depending on what you get, even though it is a buffet. Despite that oddity, the food was very good and so was the pie we shared afterward.

This was a delightful experience. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and we went early before touring the Stetson Mansion. We got in, ate in leisure, enjoyed it immensely and we are planning to take a group from our church in Orlando. I don't normally like buffets but this was acceptional.

We tried Cooks twice when we first moved to DeLand. They use garlic salt on what would otherwise be wonderful bread. The salt makes it taste bitter. Salad bar is really, really good, cold, crisp and fresh. The vegetables are good but the meat was dry. I think that may be because it's a buffet line and it was maybe... More

This is an example of how not to run a cafe. The line is always long because of the speed (or lack of) by the order taker. Then the food takes forever and if you are lucky they may give you more than one napkin. The people that work here should take it seriously. They are in the business of... More

The food is okay, but the atmosphere is rather drab. It's run of the mill food... not bad, but certainly nothing to get excited about. I had a chicken pita sandwich, and it was a bit on the wee side. If you like to have an adventurous meal, this is not your venue.

I loved the Holiday House! We ate there at least 2 times per week and all Holidays! It is now called Cooks Café. It is just not the same. The salad bar is sloppy looking, drippings everywhere, even on the floor. The hot bar is a bit more neat. The taste of the food is just okay. The staff is... More

Cooks Cafe has some of the best soups and sandwiches in town. Some people LOVE their french fries, but NOT me. I think everything is great EXCEPT the fries. My favorites are all of the soups, the Ruben, and dessert. This is the little Cooks Cafe hidden inside a larger building, NOT the Cooks just North of Stetson. I have... More

A small but tasty cafe tucked inside the mainstreet building downtown Deland. Started in 1983. Fresh, cooked to order burgers, sandwiches and fresh salads. Homemade soups and bread bowls. Homemade desserts to die for. Low price but big in quality.
