The restaurant came highly recommended but we left disappointed. The food was okay but the service was terrible. We seemed like we were a nuisance to the waitress.

Food was excellent - everything was cooked very well and full of taste! Service was decent (could have been a bit better). Nice little band. Loved sitting outside and watching fishermen come into the dock.

We ate at Cortez Kitchen because it got good reviews and we wanted to try someplace that didn't fall into the "resort" category. The Cortez is located right at the working waterfront which is part of the experience. You can eat inside or outside as we did. The peel and eat shrimp was great and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff... More

Fun and busy place, especially on nights when there is live entertainment. I was there when Eric Von was singing, and he was amazing! Good food, nice people, good service..I love this place!!

The restaurant is great - sitting outside on the dock. It was SO pleasant to sit listening to live music while eating!

This was an open air restaurant on the bay. The scallops were by far some of the best I have had. I ordered grilled scallops prepared to perfection. The waitress recommended blacken scallops the next time we go to the restaurant. Another person at our table had steamed clams. The broth the clams were steamed in was the most developed... More

Although the restaurant itself is very casual, it is a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Located in the heart of Cortez, Florida, and along the fishing docks on the shore of the Sarasota Bay, the seafood doesn't get any fresher than this! Grouper sandwiches are a specialty on the gulf coast of Florida, and the peel and eat pink... More

Great restaurant right on fishing ducks. Fish doesn't get any fresher. Try the Grouper sand which. Come early, it gets busy. Moderate prices.

I decided to try this place instead of dealing with the food booths at the Festival. They a special on "red shrimp", which were large and very good. Also got the fried okra which I loved. It was Happy Hour and the drinks were reasonable, it was a great place to people watch.

Informal dining by the Gulf. Restaurant was crowded so service was slow, but not terrible. Fish is super fresh and simply prepared. A nice place for lunch or a laid back dinner.
