Dinner on a quiet Monday evening. My son and his wife had spent their honeymoon here so we were keen to try it out. We were not disappointed. The food was very nice, well prepared and the portions generous. The batter on the fish was...More

We brought 12 with us to a booked table and kept the place in business for food and drink all afternoon. So not sure why the staff never rose above lukewarm in their interactions with us.

Just returned from a week long trip in the lakes and have of course eaten out plenty of times. I was thinking where my best meal was, and I can safely say the Hare and Hounds, all of us said it was FAB!

The Seabass main was delicious except for the fact it had five bones in it. I ordered the Creme Brule for dessert and was given Apple Crumble. When the Creme Brule did arrive, the sugar shell cracked perfectly but the custard inside was cold.

We are staying in the area and found this restaurant on tripadvisor. We ate in the beer garden and had the steak and ale pie. It was an idyllic setting and we very much enjoyed it.
