This was a wonderful evening. The owner and chef is fantastic. The salads were wonderful and tasty. The borscht was fabulous and very delicious. I had the duck, it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the pasta, he loved it. We also had the...stroganoff, it was very authentic and not Betty Crocker noodles. Save room for dessert! The Napoleon was our favorite. Do not miss the martini’s. Make a reservation and enjoy! The atmosphere is eclectic and very special. I finally got to go and we will be back.More

A friend suggested we mark our 30 years of friendship with a weekend getaway to Rehoboth, and cap the trip with dinner at Red Square, which he'd been to a couple of times already, and loved. We had vacationed in St. Petersburg together 11 years...ago and reminisce about it frequently, so this was a great nod to our Russia visit. We popped in late Friday night (1 day before our actual reservation) just to have a vodka nightcap -- and ended up splitting 3 different "shots" of Russian vodkas, as tastings, elegantly presented after a quick shake over ice, in cone-shaped glasses that rest in spherical bowls of ice water. The Ukrainian owner's son is often bartending here, and he is not only very engaging and friendly, but very knowledgable about vodka and the distillation and filtering processes; it was remarkable sampling these (ranging from very-hard, to-impossible-to-find) Russian vodkas after generally a lifetime of drinking the "standard commercial brands" you traditionally find in the liquor stores normally. We returned Sat. for our 6:30 dinner reservation. Reservations are a must, the restaurant is very, very tiny, and on our night, while we started out as only the 2nd occupied table, the place was packed to capacity within 90 minutes. The dishes are homemade, and a finite number of each entree is available each evening, owing to the teensy kitchen space. (The concept when this place opened almost 20 years ago, was to be a vodka and caviar bar, not a restaurant... but food service was mandated as part of the liquor license back then, apparently. Fortunately, the owner had access to her mother for her homemade, favorite recipes... My friend also knew it would be helpful to confirm our menu choice in advance at the time he made the reservation - so we'd decided our meal from the online menu, a week ahead of time - just to be sure the things we wanted would be available that night and not risk selling out -- the kitchen is SO tiny at this restaurant, they can and sometimes do run out of the "crowd favorites". We started out with the very unusual Russian Dirty Martini, made with a Russian pickle juice (full of far more flavors than just "dill" or "sour") rather than with olive brine, along with a cucumber simple-syrup. And a hint of hot pepper spiciness. What a drink! I love the typical olive-based dirty vodka martinis but this was a whole new twist, and so full of several layers of flavors (sour, sweet, spicy, but so smooth...) beyond just the "salty olive brine" I enjoy. I eventually had a second one (without the cucumber simple-syrup addition, for comparison) and it was even more to my liking, removing the very subtle hint of sweetness, but also unfortunately losing the subtle cucumber flavor I had enjoyed... Dinner for me began with the "Czar Pizza" as a starter (smoked salmon and creme fraiche on flatbread with little dots of caviar on each slice), then onto the spectacularly delicious, noodle-free beef Stroganoff. This was unlike any Stroganoff I'd ever had, and was one of the tastiest entrees I have had the pleasure to enjoy in years. I could have had a full second entree of this, it was so delicious! Just beef, onions, mushrooms, and truly amazing sauce, far lighter than some of the alfredo-like thick cream sauce Stroganoff's I'd had in the past... Simply superb! I would have licked the bowl clean if it wouldn't be rude to do so! Finishing off with the Strawberry Romanov, which had a wonderful fresh whipped cream, and tasty sliced strawberries. The liquid component was a (I think) Stoli strawberry infusion vodka; after the sublime, smooth Russian sipping vodkas we'd tasted Friday, and in our martinis with dinner, this one had much more 'bite and punch' as a vodka -- I felt by then I was becoming a bit of a Russian vodka 'connoisseur', and I think I would have preferred one of the smoother vodkas as the infusion. Not that this in any way prevented me from finishing the tasty dessert! But my friend's truffled-honey blini will be my next-time dessert! I would readily, eagerly book a dinner here again! While named as a "Caviar Bar," we didn't end up with any of the caviar flights... the starters and entrees were all so good. But I can imagine it would be a fun and tasty splurge to try one of those caviar presentations, on another very special occasion! Kudos to Victoria (the owner) and her family for this utterly unique, delicious gem sitting unassumingly on the main drag of Rehoboth!More

We wanted to try something different from the typical restaurants. The food was very good but expensive. It is a small restaurant. They have a menu just for martini's that says $20 however my husband's drink was $25 . Something about a dirty martini is...more but it wasnt on the menu. We shared the mushroom ravioli as an appetizer and split a salad. Each main dish was over $40. Chicken Kiev and Duck. No tax. Overall I thought the food and service was very good. One duck dish is cold. The hot one is more. I enjoyed my apple tiniMore

We went for a romantic dinner and certainly got it. The portions are not big, but we were told that in advance. The menu was thoroughly explained to us and all questions were answered. Friendly staff, amazing bar!

Can’t say enough here. Small portions of food, cold, and expensive- literally NCY good restaurant prices. One word of advice - AVOID!!!

Stopped by the Red Square Cavier Bar about 10:00 PM on a chilly November evening. Immediately upon entering my wife and I were struck by the spectacular decor, bright red chairs setting off tables with spotless white tablecloths and fancy glasses. We were cheerfully greeted...by the owner and other guests, two groupings of friends happily sharing drinks. In spite of the fact we were only there for dessert we were made to feel welcome and valued. We tried the Strawberry Romanoff, a delicious blend of strawberries, brandied strawberries, and Russian cream. Could not have been happier.More

Have been to most restaurants in Rehoboth, but not this one. The restaurant is very small and seems to want to be more of a vodka and caviar bar than a restaurant. We however were there for the food. The handful of dishes they offered...were very traditional, like Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Kiev. We've had these dishes in many restaurants and this was by far the worst version of them. Not only that, they were all priced above $40 for very small portions. Overall, a very disappointing experience.More

Food is very delicious and authentic Russian. The owner, Victoria, is very attentive, friendly, and spends time explaining the food and drinks. She takes her time to explain the differences in vodka. We enjoyed the borsch, caviar, goose liver mousse, cheese plate, beef stroganoff, Kulebiaka,...assorted smoked salmon and Napoleon. Portions were more than adequate. We will be back. Hats off to the chef! The restaurant is quaint with interesting artwork and decor.More

I did not have any food here, so I can't comment on that, but I highly recommend the 6-7PM happy hour featuring $7 martinis. We had a blast sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender. The martini (dirty) may have been the best...I've ever had.More
