My wife loves Mexico food and we have frequented this restaurant for a few years. No more! Last week she found a 1/2 inch long, 1/8 inch thick piece of metal in her taco. Thankfully she didn't swallow it.

Stopped in for an early mid-week dinner using a Groupon and was impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service. The usual Mexican and Tex-Mex entrees, prepared with care. The star was the excellent salsa and wheat flour chips. Prices are in range for this sort of establishment. Family-friendly deals for the kids.

I used to go here all of the time but will not go back again. While the salsa is really good, the food has gotten more expensive. The service is so-so. They began up charging for basic proteins that are not more before. But the real reason I won't return is based on principle - if you pay cash, they... More

Stopped in for dinner. Ordered frozen margarita to start out the meal. Was watered down and couldn't even taste the alcohol. Sent it back for a margarita on the rocks. Just as bad. The El Jefe fajitas, guac, salsa, and chips were good. Wouldn't return based on the margaritas...$6 for watered down maragitas ruined the good food.

Stopped in for the 1st time this past weekend for late lunch. Chips were warm, the salsa was just a bit tangy, and the quacamole was fresh. All tasted homemade and were delicious. Menu was pretty straightforward, traditional Mexican fare. Had the pollo a la tampiqueña, grilled chicken, onions, & peppers, which came with rice, refried beans, & choice of... More

We had 5 people in the group. We were hoping to have a few drinks and then dinner. The music was way too loud in the dining area. We asked the waiter to turn down the volume and was told the volume could not be adjusted. There were several families with small kids. It was impossible to carry on a... More

We weren't impressed having lunch here a year or so ago. Dinner tonight was much better. Good menu selection. Food was tasty. Service was excellent. Music was playing a little bit loud.

I loved being in Newark visiting students and having the choice of Quesedillas, Guacamole, and more – this was amazing. The inside was everything I’d expect a Mexican restaurant to be and represent, the food was authentic and delicious, and the service was perfect. For at least five of us, the price was crazy reasonable – the music authentically Mexican,... More

Great chips and salsa, if you like heat ask for the salsa verde. The food is very good and it is not pricey.

Great: Salsa, it's hot & spicy which goes great with the chips. Hot sauce I requested with the enchiladas was pretty amazing. Although it wasn't really that hot, there was a ton of flavour and the heat sneaks up after a while. Server was very nice, helpful and gracious. Good: Enchiladas con Cangrego, crab enchiladas did have lump crabmeat which... More
