Several friends recommended the surfing crab and they were right on. Several sizes, the prices were not inexpensive but definitely worth it for full and heavy crabs.

I have to answer with the same suggestion! Sorry I am not a beer drinker. I am more of a mixed drink person. ! But do check with them!
We recently (yesterday) ordered one dozen large 5/1/2 to 6 inch crabs for take out....we have previously had surfing crab soups and wonderful crab cakes and looked forward to the great crabs we have been hearing about. The dozen shrimp were fine.... BUT the crabs were lukewarm (we live less than a mile away) and rather dry....could they have been cooked hours previously to pick up time and then kept warm? Very disappointed in what we thought was going to be a fun feast. $95 for so so crabs is not what we expected. Paynters Mill resident.

The Surfing Crab is a family tradition of fresh seafood and crabs that was established over 50 years ago. It all started back in 1961, when Henry Vechery opened the Bethesda Crab House. His young son, Donald Vechery began working with him at the age of just nine. Over the years, the crab house became a huge success. Around 2008, Donald wanted to branch out and build something for himself using his years of knowledge and experience. Thus, The Surfing Crab was born, providing Sussex County with 8 years of the most amazing crabs and seafood the area has seen. Come down and try our passionatly crafted dishes using the freshest seafood available!
