First...they have moved to Glenbrook Road. Solved two major problems...now lots of parking and no stairs only one level. The food is terrific. I've been eating a Indian restaurants since 1966. Their menus is focused and delicious. The vindaloo is perfect and the lamb shukha was the nicest lamb dish I've had in a long time. Portions are generous but... More

The new location at 487 Glenbrook Road is warm, cosy and welcoming. We ordered several appetizers including amazing Lasuni Gobi and the Signature Bhindi (crispy okra) as well as chicken momos. All were tasty - The Entrees were all as good especially outstanding Lamb Vindaloo and Navaratan Korma (9 vegetables in creamy almond gravy). Friendly service, reasonably priced and lots... More

If you are Indian food lover definitely this place is made for you. Have a lot of option in food and there taste is also good. Location is good. In night this place is quiet packed. Service is quick and good. Although there is a bit chance to improve on pricing.

Was here with some colleagues for lunch one day. I always enjoy the buffet stile because you can eat a lot, it also gives you the opportunity to try different stuff which is useful when you don't have a clue what anything is. The food tasted good and I enjoyed the flavor. The Indian bread they give you (I forget... More

Indian doesn't get any better than this $24 for a couple at lunch with amazing selection of Indian food. Fresh Naan to table and love sitting in the second story looking out into the city of Stamford. Great for business casual lunch. Quick in and out and food was succulent and well prepared. Go when they first open at noon... More

I went for a quick buffet Sep 1. Food was ok. I was vegetarian on that day hence spread was limited. Biggest Con: In the naan basket they served, there was a left over piece of naan from the previous customer. (See the picture attached) I would never go again just for this reason Pro: Manchurian idly and Madras Vegetable... More

Used to be good but not anymore. They either changed chef or are on cost cutting spree. Ordered lasooni gobi and only 4 under cooked pieces were delivered. They promptly replaced order but next visit was again same. Indo Chinese is good.

Regularly visit here and the food is always good. Portions good size, food not too spicey (though you can ask for more if you like!). Staff friendly, though occasionally a little slow service. Really nice options for a vegetarian (me) but great that there are lots of choices. Nice salad starter, really good spinach and paneer. Indian beer available too.

Description
Chef Kausik Roy has studied the ways Americans respond to the complex tastes and spices of traditional Indian cooking. Tawa is an extension of the home style Indian cuisine the chef grew up with, along with more modern interpretations he has developed throughout the years, satisfying the purists, as well as the adventurous. Vibrant and exciting classic, as well as new preparations of fresh vegetables, meat and seafood are the basis to Tawa's style of Indian bistro fare. Tasty vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are also featured, in addition to Chef Roy's signature "Indo-Chinese" specialties. In addition to a spectacular lunch and Sunday brunch buffet, Tawa features Indian BBQ on the weekends throughout the warmer months. Tawa is housed in a free-standing colonial style dwelling adjacent to the Glenbrook Train Station, among an active residential and retail neighborhood located 2 miles from downtown Stamford. The large space, divided into multiple dining areas, seats 85 inside and another 30 on the patio. Dressed is stylish wood paneling and colorful Indian street food photography, the space radiates with natural sunlight by day and in the evening morphs into a cozy neighborhood eatery.
