This place is a diamond in the rough! Don't let the exterior fool you, the meals served up here and fresh and prepared with care. The pancakes are simply amazing as well as the French toast! I try to make it a point to come here every time I pass through the Southbury area. A must try!

Thi is a small town diner with many regulars. The food is made right there in front of you if you sit at the counter. Coffee is hot and fresh. The waitstaff is always friendly. Cash only accepted.

Stopped in this diner for a grilled cheese with tomato. I know it is only a sandwich but it was delicious. I sat at the counter and watched the owner cooking some great egg dishes. I was amazed at how great he cracked those eggs over the grill. This guy is really good at what he does. Truly an art... More

When I moved to Southbury 15 years ago, I did not think to try this place immediately but I noticed there were usually people waiting outside to get in. Couldn't understand why anyone would wait online for breakfast? I mean anyone can make a good breakfast right? My cousin implored me to try the place. I was blown away. I... More

Don't let the size of this place fool you. It is not uncommon to see a line of people waiting to get it. There is good reason for that. The food is cooked to order and they have a great menu for a "small" place. Owners are terrific and the homemade corned beef hash is to die for.

This is a whole in the wall and it meets all the great expectations of that term. The staff were pleasant. The food was great and the price was easy on the pocket. As people entered, it was obvious a place the locals visited, as everyone knew everyone, but us. LOL. But that did not matter, everyone was pleasant the... More

Offers all of your diner basics - the bottomless cup of coffee, the waitresses who know your name, great breakfast plates and luncheon platters, fast take-out. The menu is only as big as the diner itself (maybe a dozen tables and 12-15 counter stools?) but for a quick hearty bite that will sit well with both your stomach and your... More

Coming early is key at the laurel diner. Coming on weekends, especially Sundays long lines to get in, but worth the wait. Peter the owner runs this family owned diner with the help of his wife Stephanie. Order hash browns, corn beef hash and the original captain crunch pancakes. If ever in Southbury, they will treat you like family.
