We went to the Monkey Farm twice - and the second time, for dinner, had a nice dinner. But we were all upset (8 of us, including children) by the group of adult men sitting nearby who were very loud, used vulgar language, and at...More
Very sorry about your dinner experience not being as nice as what you expected. Vulgar language is never acceptable and we often take those type individuals aside and discipline them for their rudeness. We keep our political views silent and have no comment on the...More
This restaurant/bar have a very good mood. Serves good food and drinks but Very very dated. I have no words to describe the men's restroom...
Not sure what you saw in our 2012 remodeled Men's room. Tile to ceiling everything was replaced. The room is also thoroughly cleaned daily.
This is a working mans bar that is open to everyone. The seafood is always fresh, the hamburger out of this world. Great place for lunch, great service and who knows better than the working man where to get a good meal at a good...More
Very well said, Our name has been a great marketing tool for almost 50 years!
I love the Monkey Farm. Great atmosphere and the food is first class! This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lunch spots.
Thanks for the compliments !
I can only review on the later night scene as that is when we went. It almost has a dive feel it a gitchy way. Younger crowd, loud, pool playing type of joint. Fun
The crowd gets younger the later it is, day time you would have another opinion ALTHOUGH ITS STILL FUN AT LUNCH ! Thanks for the nice review !
We we're driving through Old Saybrook mid-day when we spotted the Monkey Farm. You know how some places just look friendly? It has that neighborhood favorite vibe going on. And it looked welcoming on a warm, thirsty day. We had a very pleasant lunch, served...More
Cash only since 1968 helps keep the prices affordable ! Thanks for the stars !
We have been hearing about this restaurant for years but hesitated because it looked worn, and more of a bikers restaurant. It's true it has its own character, comfortable, light hearted and fun, and yes bikers are there too, guys and gals from every walk...More
Hopefully we keep you coming back ! Thanks for the nice review !
We went before an event at The Kate on a Friday night. Fairly crowded but seating was available as lots of people were at the bar. We all had sandwiches and wraps and especially like the sweet potato fries. Bill for 4 with non-alcoholic drinks...More
Thanks for the nice review, hope to see you again soon. Lots of great shows coming up at The Kate this summer/fall season. We also get a big influx after the shows as we serve until 11 pm. daily !
Food was ok but I wish there was a sign that said "cash only". I heard the waitress telling another customer so my husband headed to the B of A across the street before our food arrived.
Our ATM is a nominal $2.00 fee (that is lowest fee in Old Saybrook)
