Great Italian restaurant! One of my favorites along the shoreline. Authentic food and great atmosphere. The wait staff is excellent!

We had dinner twice and the pasta and pizza were excellent. The owner himself greeted us and as our grandson is italien and we speak also the language, there were immediately a big understanding! Could recommend it!

We love living in Hawaii--BUT for Great Pizza--we had to fly to Connecticut. We are very familiar with Pepe's Pizza--but ALFORNO is above and beyond GREAT!! YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY!!!! The 3 of us delved into a Margueritta with sausage and mushrooms. The Margueritta was too plain by itself BUT the addition of the Sausage was terrific as were the mushrooms.... More

This is the third or fourth time that I've been to AlForno for pizza. This time my friends who were visiting from Hawaii requested that we go there again. They were here three years ago and loved the pizza. I grew up near Wooster St. in New Haven where some of the best pizzas in the world were made. They... More

Full disclosure: I am a proletarian and gourmand, but I know class when I see it and I know excellent food when I taste it! The restaurant itself is in a not too classy location, that of a strip store-front. But the interior decor is quite nice with sound absorbing drapery. The wait staff is head and shoulders above many... More

We've eaten here often, and have enjoyed the varied items on the menu, but most recently we weren't all that hungry and tried the pizza margherita (spelling?). It was excellent, and we are not pizza fans, particularly when there are so many other tasty options. Recommended, not only for the food but also for the friendly and excellent service.

We go here often as the service is always very good. You know the place is good when you see the same wait staff month after month. The food is always good. They provide olives as a snack while you are waiting on your meal to come, along with some bread. We really enjoy this place.

On a quiet weekday, we were seated right next to the open kiychen. Sangria, squid, salad and traditional pizza were promptly and artfully prepared. Fresh baked bread, olives, oil and cheese served with old world charm by the attentive waiter set the tone for a very refreshing dining experience. My husband and I will return here. We thoroughly enjoyed it... More

After a number of dining experiences at this restaurant, we have concluded that prices are a bit high in comparison to what one gets. The salads are not particularly out of the ordinary but the least expensive is still $7 plus. Ceaser salad is $9 plus. I recently had the lasagna, it was good, but a fairly small to medium... More

Alforno is definitely up scale from many of the local Italian establishments. It has fairly serious cuisine, but it also has very good pizza. Located in an innocuous strip mall, it can be overloocked, but it does deliver an excellent product on a very consistent basis.
