We are locals who like fresh seafood and Skipper's always delivers-This is not fine dining-it's picnic tables and deli style self service-but its really good food. We love the fish sandwiches and creamy chowda! Sit outside in the summer and enjoy the view of Niantic Bay

Skipper’s serves a lot of fried seafood and it’s all good! This is a very small restaurant, open year round, but in the summer you can sit on the deck and look out at the Niantic Bay. Choose your fried clam strips, whole clams, shrimp, scallops as a dinner, in a roll or as a side order. Not into seafood?... More

Spectacular view if you don't mind the trains blasting by. Good simple beach food...fried seafood, burgers and hot dogs. Tasty onion rings and ice cream! Open year round so nice place for a Sunday afternoon.

Skipper's clam chowder reflects the overall approach the restaurant uses throughout its menu. The clams are bought daily from local fisherman. The cream and potatoes from local farms. Everything used is natural, local, fresh. No artificial canned goods. This approach permeates the rest of the menu -- Lobster roll, Fish and Chips, Whole Belly Clams, Scallops. Skippers is a treasure... More

This is our grandchildren's favorite place to eat. Great food selections for adults and children. The cold lobster rolls are our favorite as well as the New England clam chowder. Our grandkids love the grill cheese or hotdogs. They also make the best mocha milk shake ever.

It's one of those non-pretentious, mainly fried / sort of fast food / seafood restaurants. Definitely casual. Being gluten intolerant - had a caesar salad with lobster ( hold the croutons)...and man oh man - loaded with lobster and flavor. Rich without all the butter. Took care of my lobster craving for the month.( $19.28) I will say that I... More

This is a great place with seating inside now that the cooler weather has arrived. I LOVE whole belly fried clams, and on this visit they were perfectly cooked. I had a small side order which was more than enough and a Caesar salad with dressing that actually had the aroma and taste of anchovies. Others in the party had... More

Stopped here for whole belly clams as I have over the last several years. Have always gotten very good food here.Fried fish, clams, burgers or chowders. Beautiful view of the ocean from their patio. You won't be disappointed.I consider it a little over priced, but that might just be me,I am old-fashioned and everything seems expensive these days.

There is multitude of this type of seafood restaurant along the Connecticut shoreline. This one is nothing special. The salad was small and expensive with the added shrimp. The shrimp was over done. My kids had a burger and hot dog which the both enjoyed. The view of Niantic bay was nice, but the overall experience is just average.

Service was quick, just before a rush. Fish sandwich was fresh, hot and very good & cole slaw, extensive menu, soups, dinners, burgers, chowder. Eat in or outside. Offered ice cream also.
