Looking for something elegant for our 10th Anniversary. Beautiful drive in the countryside and a lovely patio table overlooking the lake. My lamb shank was tender and succulent with rice, cooked carrots and squash to accompany it. Superb. $21 My spouse had the seafood medley in garlic butter sauce and she was quite pleased. $16 All in all very elegant... More

Late lunch with my husband. Known for German cuisine but we didn't have German today. Cream of mushroom soup was delicious. Both of us had chicken cordon bleu which was superb - moist not dry. It was served with broccoli/cauliflower and shredded potatoes. Bread is amazing - crispy outside and tender inside. You will make a mess of bread crumbs... More

The outstanding dinner on Thanksgiving was a pleasant afternoon. The food was tasty if was Thanksgiving fare or other choices. From the opening appetizer, well made entries, great choice of wines, and room for traditional desserts, the satisfied feeling of a complete experience was fulfilled.

Went to dinner for our anniversary. Had a nice drink at the bar and then proceeded to dinner. Our meals were perfectly cooked and served promptly without being rushed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Prices are reasonable and just a great place to take in the sunset and enjoy a very relaxing meal. We will definitely... More

Never, ever a bad meal, always well prepared, authentic and very, very tasty. Backhendal, schnitzel and once in a while, sweetbreads done to perfection. Spatezele and rosti potatoes, too...yum. Salad simple and always fresh with signature dressing. (take some home!!) Good wine list and by-the-glass tasty selections. Stay inside on chilly fall and winter nights warmed by the fireplace, and... More

The Hopkins Inn is located on the beautiful Lake Waramaug with their own winery part of the facilities. Gorgeous patio overlooking the lake, excellent place to sit and have a cocktail or more appropriately perhaps a wine or two before going inside for dinner (they also have outside seating overlooking the lake. Unlike some other places, they don't make it... More

We stumbled upon the restaurant after visiting the winery. It was a beautiful setting overlooking the lake. It was a Tuesday afternoon in October and it was packed. The hostess seemed a little overwhelmed and at first told us she could not help us because there were too many reservations but eventually she found us a table inside the Inn.... More

We love the Hopkins Inn. Our food was great and we love the view. The only criticism I have is they need to staff better for a beautiful fall weekend. There were a lot of people.out and about enjoying the nice fall day, so the place was hopping. The hostess seemed frazzled and our waiter.... well he never came back... More

We stay at the Hopkins Inn yearly...in October! We luxuriate in the location...rural but frankly upscale. And come mealtime we scout out local restaurants for seasonal good food and interesting environments. For whatever reason mellow took hold of us this trip and we stayed at home in the Inn eating both dinner and breakfast in. On both occasions the presentation... More

My wife and I stayed here recently for 2 nights. On the first night we dined here. My wife had the fillet steak and I had the sirloin. The steaks had to be 2 of the best we've ever had. The outside dining area was spectacular as the sun was setting over the lake. The Hopkins overall is a great... More
