The food is good, definitely among the best in New Milford. Every time I've eaten there the service has been good. Sometimes the waitstaff is spread a little thin resulting in a longer wait for service, but that's not the waitstaff's fault. The problem is the takeout service. Over the past couple months my wife and I have ordered takeout... More
Our expectations weren't that high, however, we were pleasantly surprised with a menu full of options--obviously known for their delicious BBQ. The meatloaf sandwich was also a good choice. Attentive wait staff and reasonable prices made for a nice dinner when visiting in this area.
We had Dinner there the other night I didn't want a big meal and don't eat bread or potatoes So it was difficult to find something on the menu. The waitress helped me out by offering the pullled pork sandwich no bread and double coleslaw it was absolutely perfect.
I'm giving The Cookhouse an average rating, because it's just ok. It's been hit or miss on the occasions we have been there. The food is ok somedays and great other days. It's kind of loud, no barriers and there is a bar. We have been on repeated occasions and that's because we live in town and sometimes its easier... More
Fun time, great barbecue food, very friendly staff. Becky is the bomb along with Lizzie who always welcomes us when we arrive. All staff members know us by name which means a lot. Especially love the fruit and nut salad along with the fried pickles, onion rings and barbecue sundae

Upon arrival we were seated immediately upstairs. The menu made it hard to choose what to eat because everything sounded amazing. I decided on the Brisket and... More
I read the recent reviews which were not favorable and was surprised since we've been to the cookhouse on several occasions. My wife and I visited for a late lunch and we were not disappointed. I had the brisket and andouille sausage. The brisket was moist and flavorful, the sausage was nicely barbecued and just the right amount of heat.... More
Food and service at the cook house was amazing, however despite paying by card and writing clearly on the bill that we had left a cash tip they still took a tip from the card resulting in taking a 40 dollar tip.
