Excellent selection of cold and hot appetizers, tandoori specials, chicken, seafood, lamb, biryani and huge combos. Easy walk from main shopping. Inexpensive lunch specials ($7-9). Quiet atmosphere and gentle wait people.

Tandoori chicken was not good couldn't tell if it was cooked in a special oven or just steamed with some seasonings. Chicken tikka masala was ok.

My husband and I were looking for a traditional Indian restaurant with a menu consisting of a variety of classic Indian dishes. The higher ranked Indian restaurant in town seemed to be more of a 'order at the counter, chipotle style' restaurant, so we opted for Kamal. We got the dinner for two and it was delicious. Everything we got... More

I have been frequenting this Indian Restaurant for many, many years and although I think it has changed hands it is solid Indian food. Last Sunday it was really hot in New Haven and my wife and I went in and it was so hot we turned to go and the cook came running up to us and said, "don't... More

Met a friend for lunch here after a service at Christ Church. I was a little alarmed that there was only one customer in the restaurant at 1:15 on a Wednesday as it is right on the corner of Broadway and Howe. They really made the effort to make us feel welcomed. Both the lamb and chicken korma were tasty,... More

We ordered the food to go and walked over from our hotel a few minutes later. The food was ready and the gentleman that served us was friendly. It was all delicious. I can not recall the name of the it, but my favorite was an eggplant dish.

The interior is nothing to look at, but the food is nice (though not stellar) and the staff is all smiles. The Dahi papdi was excellent, the chicken in my Chicken Madras was very over cooked, but the lamb Vindaloo made up for everything.

The food was spiced perfectly and the service was good. I really enjoyed my lamb rogan josh. I only wish that I had gone with friends so I could have tried more of their selection!!

This area deserves better than this; we had a takeaway and it was by far the most disappointing dhaal makhani and fish madras I had ever tasted, small portions (with a free serving of rice) for the rip-off price of nearly $30. This is all surprising seeing as authenticity is on show, from cricket on the small TV to the... More

I had the nine-vegetable vegetarian dish (which came with basmati rice), and also a salt lassi to drink. It was a good tasty meal, and including gratuity came out at $20
