Sorry, I couldn't resist the play in my title. My wife and I were thrilled with our experience at Barcelona. While she attended a conference on the campus of Yale University, I took the opportunity to scout around for a worthy dinner location. We stayed...More

Amazing experience!!! I have a food allergy (garlic) and our server, Kayla, actually went into the chef and came back with a customized menu -- for real! He made alternative suggestions and everything was delicious! I have never been accommodated like that before. I also...More

This is a terrific place for a glass of wine with a few tapas or a meal. Interesting food, good wine list, lively atmosphere. Never disappoints.

Found this place while staying at the Omni on business. I've had tapas in Spain, and my favorite in the U.S. is the famous Jaleo in Washington, D.C. Barcelona is as good as Jaleo and very authentically Spanish. The list of wine selections by the...More

Lots of variety, portions are pretty big, good quality, ingredients. I had the branzino and it was over cooked. My brother in law and nephew had a meet platter that was delicious and enormous. It was packed on a Saturday and service really suffered. They...More

Great restaurant. Barcelona is a tapas bar for those who like a taste of Spain and something a little different for dinner. There are two main rooms and the one on the right as you walk in is a little quieter if the place is...More

Lively for a cold Monday evening but the welcome was warm and the food very nice. Enjoyed a mixture of different plates all of which were delicious which were promptly served with a smile.

Went to Barcelona with 6 others to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere was great! Our server was wonderful! The food was tasty, however, for the quantity of food, I believe it was a tad pricey.Tapas restaurants are the rage right now and Barcelona does a...More

I really wanted to give this Tapas and Wine Bar five stars, but four is maybe stretching it a little--but it's better than three stars. The service is interesting. We had a server who introduced himself, and then seemed to only occasionally visit our table....More

I've been to Barcelona at least 20 times in the past 8 years, and it's always consistent. The vibe is sleeker than most restaurants in New Haven, and it's a great date spot or place when you're feeling a bit fancier (but not stuffily so)....More

Not as far as I know. From what I saw, I would very much doubt that the kitchen is kosher. Call them and ask.

Barcelona New Haven opened in 2006 and is our largest restaurant in CT. Winner of the New Haven Advocate's "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Wine List," Barcelona is located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven just steps from Yale University. Here we have combined some of our favorite elements in a single location. A street level lounge overlooks a dining bar area with a stone fireplace. The sophisticated glass-and-steel dining room is framed by a 2000-bottle refrigerated wine cellar. The dramatic 80-seat private room is dominated by a larger than life, wall to wall, 30-foot mural of a Spanish bullfighter, and a 20-person chef's table, fashioned from a single walnut tree, borders the busy open kitchen.
