On a weekend night you should go either at 5 PM or 8:30, because in between it is mobbed. No reservations, people just stand in line. Also there's no real atmosphere -- not to the room, anyway, but there IS the atmosphere of people having the meal of their lives and enjoying it, and each other, immensely. This place has... More

Having visited with family recently I found this restaurant to be incredibly authentic and delicious. Giant portions, reasonably priced. The decor is a bit dated and honestly not very inviting, but the food really makes up for it. With a little remodel and investment, this place is a goldmine. Authentic Portuguese....that's what I like!

I had the sea bass which is not on the menu but must be asked for and the wife had the primavera pasta. There was much more than we could finish so we both took home leftovers. The food was great but the place is not much to look at.

We tried out Primavera on a Saturday evening after hearing a couple of reports from acquaintances. It's inconspicuous in a tiny commercial space and nearly drove by although our GPS told us we'd arrived. Inside, the dining area is sparse and small. Menu choices were somewhat limited but the selections were satisfactory to our party of four. I had the... More

5PM on a Friday and the place is practically empty. No problem finding a table. We haven't been here in a while and forgot how wonderful the good was. Basic Portuguese fair I had sea bass, not on the men's so you have to ask, and pasta primavera. The price was extremely reasonable. The sea bass came with 6 shrimps,... More

This was my first visit to this pub. I have driven by it many times but had never stopped by. A friend of ours highly recommended it for Portuguese food so we stopped by for lunch. The price for two of us was a bit less than $30. The portions were very large and tasty. The Primavera omelet probably used... More

Don't come to this place if you're interested in romantic ambiance, or quiet and dignified dining. It ain't gonna happen here! But if you want some really authentic Portuguese food, served in abundant portions and very reasonable prices, then this is the spot for you. We showed up at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night and the place was hopping.... More

To be honest this is not the kind of place that we would frequent. It is out of the way and located in Hartford next to the Newington town line. It is near a package store with many unsavory characters hanging around outside. The pub was recommended to us by a friend who raved about their grilled sea bass. We... More

First time here, will not return. Went for lunch with my elderly mother. The place was about two-thirds full, mostly men having large, delicious looking meals. We waited about fifteen minutes for someone to finally take or order. We each ordered a cup of kale soup and asked to share the steamed clams in garlic sauce and one each of... More
