The ambiance of the place is what tipped this into 4 star territory vs 3. The beers they have available are great, really good selection of different types sure to please even the beer snob friends in the group. The food was hit or miss. I had an amazing burger, kinda different because they used a quesadilla as a bun... More

Having worked for quite a few years right down the street, we would frequent this place often for Happy Hour. Good food w/nice microbrew selection. And if a "naughty nurse" fits your fancy, buy the glass too! Fun place. Would like to try the comedy downstairs some time too.

This was our first meal stop while in Hartford. It was about 3 blocks from Hilton Hotel. The food and drinks were good, unfortunately I had no room for dessert.

1st time ever-Went for two flights of beers & a huge pretzel before the 1st game ever @ DD park & the beers & pretzel didn't disappoint. The service was a little spotty & our server was a little obnoxious-rubbed my wife the wrong way. Wouldn't stop us from coming back & trying other food & drinking more beer.

Stopped in the other night before the Yard Goats game. Very attractive and spacious restaurant so there was no wait for a table. The waitress was a bit slow and kept apologizing. Not sure for what. The food arrived quickly enough and was ok. Nothing special.

City Steam is a GREAT place in downtown Hartford. Mainly because of the atmosphere that sits inside this historic space... The beer is not bad, the bar scene is also great--especially if you want to watch your favorite team on one of their 100 TVs in the room. The restaurant area is spacious and reminds you of NYC. There's also... More

Went to the Comedy show and the comedians were very funny. The basement does appear like a fire trap but there are three exits that I checked out right away. The prices are fair. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food is quite good. The fish tacos were fresh and plentiful. The fried pickles are fun. Bean burger... More

Sorry but from my previous visit a year ago to now the service and quality has passed. The beer selection is up there but non alcoho drinks quite slim ... Appetizers are ok but not overwhelming . I'll try again !

We had a very nice dinner! Service was fast giving us enough time to get to our game! They have some great twist on the classic meals!

The food here is decently priced and tasty. Beers were good. Mixed drinks not very strong. Stick with the beer. A warning that much of the food is hot (spicy)-- even items you wouldn't normally expect to be. Our party of 8 enjoyed this, but some people might not. The building is historic-- an old department store. Staff were willing... More
