Placed an order, after 45 minutes asked how much longer we would have to wait for it. The order had been missed out. We were given our money back, however after another 15 minutes waiting we were only given 4 out of the 5 meals...ordered. As we had to catch a ferry we just made do with those. The place was too busy and we seemed to not be the only ones who had meals missed. The positive is that the fish was delicious and I would go back but not on a busy Friday evening as that seems to be a bit of a nightmare!More
Stopped here last saturday at Country and western excellent friendly modern young team the food was excellent, loved the mix up - haggis, black pudding and sausage, chips and gravy a real treat, fish supper was also excellent batter really clean and crispy, serves modern...tasty suppers, cajun chips and halolumi. Its small inside with good sitting area well worth the food.More
Cant fault the food at all. Really tasty and good portion sizes but why oh why do you have such strange opening hours. You close really early and dont even stay open later during scooter rally including sunday as you are closed.
We had a chipper for 4, the chicken fillets were dry, chips not the best, the black pudding seemed to be from a breakfast pack and not moist at all, the fish was ok but not the best for a seaside town.
Would hesitate to...go back, but plenty positive reviews on here would allow me to try again, maybe it was just a bad day when we ordered.More
Popped into the Crocodile Chippy before heading back to the ferry after a wee day trip to Millport. Very friendly, efficient service from the young staff and a selection of cold drinks are available. Reasonable prices and I was so impressed that they had the...option of a gluten-free supper with GF batter & vinegar! Hadn't seen this anywhere before so I was absolutely delighted. Fantastic mushy peas too that come a wee separate pot. The portions were a bumper size and totally scrumptious - we loved munching our way through them sitting in the sun on a bench by the beach. Just be warned that the seagulls are watching and may swoop! Was also very impressed that the boxes were made of cardboard and not polystyrene so better for the environment. Absolutely loved our Crocodile Chippy and will definitely return on our next trip to Millport! :)More
