I love Pepe's Pizza (for years), but have found the good ole Tomato Pie (just cheese without any toppings) is the best. Putting a lot of topping on it ruins the delicate flavor of the pizza and makes the thin crust soggy.

Rather than fuss with the rush hour traffic, we decided to take a break and get a bite before getting back on the road. We've eaten at the original Frank Pepe's in New Haven and really enjoyed our meal there, so were hoping for the same in Danbury. It wasn't. Place is small and with any sort of crowd..there were... Pepe's is a 6 or 7 store chain. The original is in New Haven. All stores are in CT except for one in Yonkers, NY (Central Ave) and one in Massachusetts We get the impression that they have been making these pizza's the same way since 1925, when Mr. Pepe started up his first restaurant. They use a coal oven... More

I heard about this place, when we were in New Haven, but didn't have time then. Now I tried in Danbury. Wow! I've been to Italy and visited only the places where the locals eat. That was the best. They need to open one in Hungary!😀

I love pizza. If I am in the presence of great pizza I could eat it every day. There is a lot of hype around this place and frankly I don't think it deserves it's rep. Definitely better than average, but life changing? No. The long wait times don't help either. I haven't been back, and am in no rush... More

In town on business and really wanted some good Yankee pizza. Decided to give it a try based on the reviews. Restaurant was very clean and the wait staff was very attentive. Ordered a small pie with peperoni, extra mozzarella, and garlic. Pizza was huge for a small. Way more than I could eat. Peperoni lacked little flavor and I... More

You won't find better pizza than this place! A New Haven original has come to Danbury. Just like the original. Once you have their pizza you won't want anyone else's.

You know what you are going to get at FP's. Neopolitan-style pizza with the basics. One salad. No desserts. No distractions from the generous portions of hot from the oven chewy crispy slightly burnt cheesy pizza. A tradition with a retro family friendly feel, FP's is always consistent and always busy. Is it better than Stanziato's? Not in this writer's... More

Frank Pepe has been around for 100 years, and you can see why. The modern restaurants, coupled with the old-world recipes, makes it a must-visit when traveling thru CT. Thin crust, homemade sauce, very good mozzarella. Today's pie was pepperoni, very flavorful and a little smokier than average. Also visit locations in Yonkers, NY and Chestnut Hill, MA. Watch pizza... More

FIRST OFF...Makes your party stand in the foyer before anyone even approaches you as to how many. Don't DARE set foot inside!!! Food finally comes... 1. Pepperoni pizza with hardly any pepperoni. 2. No flavor...had to add ton of garlic & Oregano. 3. Tiny plates to make the narrow slices appear large. (Go to Portifino's in Goldens Bridge, NY to... More
