This place was super highly rated and was closed for the season last year so we were happy to be able to make it in for dinner this year. Pretty relaxed vibe, cool water, and the food was delicious, tons of herbs and vinegar flavor...More

Our favorite place to eat in Vail ~ great, friendly staff & delicious food! It's very popular, so reservations are a must. Fun to eat at the bar, too ~ if you can get a spot!

Our entire party enjoyed the meals here. We had a pretty good variety of food (steak, seafood and many others) and each meal was wonderful and the service was also great.

Good food. Great service. It has a beautiful sitting area hiding in the back with a deck overlooking a small creek

The best pimento cheese I have ever had and I lived near Augusta for six years. Do yourself a favor and get the pimento cheese! Burger and sandwich were super good too. Longer than usual wait but the food was worth it.

We love to visit Vail but this was our first time to stop at MS restaurant. The location is perfect for enjoying the outdoor patio along the creek or inside for a more cozy atmosphere. We sat outside because the weather was perfect. We enjoyed...More

This restaurant had an eclectic menu that included some really delicious items. Environment was cozy, yet modish. I highly recommend the pimento cheese appetizer & the Mr. Pink cocktail.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Mountain Standard. The Pimento cheese is outstanding as well as the biscuits with ham. The shrimp and grits wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but they were good. I would definitely go back on a return visit.

This restaurant never disappoints. We had steaks cooked to the correct temperatures. The wine lis is impressive, even for glass servings. The octopus was tender, not chewy. The chicken liver mouse (yes, I was adventurous) was surprisingly delicious - the waiter was right. It was...More

I would doubt it if they could handle a large group. It is a very busy restaurant in a tight space.

From the creators of the legendary Sweet Basil in Vail Colorado, comes a fresh, innovative new restaurant. Aptly named Mountain Standard, this rustic and relaxed tavern aims to set a new standard in the Vail valley by using an ancient form of cooking. The majority of Mountain Standard’s menu is prepared via the most primal cooking method: over an open and live wood fire. The only restaurant in the valley to devote themselves to this age-old way of cooking, the food at this exciting new restaurant has rustic, bold and honest flavors, focusing on the purest ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.Service, like the cuisine, has that perfect balance of providing a first class dining experience with a more casual vibe. There is no smoke and mirrors here – no fuss – just simple, honest, from the heart service and cooking. The beauty of the creek side location is mirrored by the high energy vibe of this dynamic restaurant. It is this energy, outstanding service, and hand crafted food that enables Mountain Standard to offer a truly unique dining experience, approachable and enjoyable to everyone.
