We attempted to dine at this restaurant at 8:30 pm, midweek in summer. The restaurant was not full and there were tables available in plain sight. We were told it would be an hour wait by a very un-accommodating hostess. Thanks, but no thanks!

We listened to the locals for recommending this terrific restaurant. Menu is very creative so we chose to eat there twice. The corned pork shank and the" standard" wedge were delicious.

Lunch, dinner or the bar, this is a great spot in the heart of Vail Village. Quality food and excellent service every time we've gone!

I like Mountain Standard better then it’s well known sister, Sweet Basil. Cooler environment and a better menu. Also a bit more relaxed.

Great dinner at this very popular restaurant. They are VERY busy. The salmon was delicious. Loved the Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes that accompanied the entree.

We made reservations in advance and it is a must for a weekend. Our table was situated outside on the terrace the weather was warm enough. Our entrees were good but the oven roasted chicken salad was not very tasty. The service was good.

Casual, noisy, expensive. The buttermilk biscuit with ham and pepper jelly and coal roasted olives sounded different, so ordered one of each for a taste. Biscuit was wonderful and flaky, olives were interesting. I got salmon, that was average. My husband for steak, asked for...More

I would doubt it if they could handle a large group. It is a very busy restaurant in a tight space.

From the creators of the legendary Sweet Basil in Vail Colorado, comes a fresh, innovative new restaurant. Aptly named Mountain Standard, this rustic and relaxed tavern aims to set a new standard in the Vail valley by using an ancient form of cooking. The majority of Mountain Standard’s menu is prepared via the most primal cooking method: over an open and live wood fire. The only restaurant in the valley to devote themselves to this age-old way of cooking, the food at this exciting new restaurant has rustic, bold and honest flavors, focusing on the purest ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.Service, like the cuisine, has that perfect balance of providing a first class dining experience with a more casual vibe. There is no smoke and mirrors here – no fuss – just simple, honest, from the heart service and cooking. The beauty of the creek side location is mirrored by the high energy vibe of this dynamic restaurant. It is this energy, outstanding service, and hand crafted food that enables Mountain Standard to offer a truly unique dining experience, approachable and enjoyable to everyone.
