After a snowy train ride to town we were looking for food, beer, and warmth. We found all we wanted and more at Avalanche. The guys that worked there were polite, informative, and all around swell . The Maple,Bacon, and Espresso Porter was delicious and the food was to die for. Homemade jalapeño poppers and bacon wrapped dates. We also had street tacos... More

Cool, friendly establishment serving good food along with its own very good beer. Great to sit out as it is situated on the old main street which resembles the Old West. Close to where the Durango-Silverton steam train pulls in which adds even more to the overall experience.

My husband and I went there for me to grab some coffee and while we were there, we got a hot chocolate for him and a s'mores brownie to share. It was delicious and it looked like their menu had much more to choose from. I never got the chance to go back and check out what they had for... More

Nice little spot off the main drag. Great patio and good beer. Busy but with good service. We had been to another local brewery earlier and had a bad experience so this was especially nice.

We were on our way from Mesa Verde to Black Canyon of The Gunnison via Durango, Silverton, and Ouray for a camping trip. WAY glad we stopped here. Fun little place. Great coffee, I'm sure it's fun later for beers and hanging out, we didn't stay as we had a date with a campground in BCoTG... Go here and you... More

We had pizza and local beer. Both very good! The staff is friendly. The place is very nice, possibility to eat outside or inside. Good value for money.

Not sure if they were using the right keg or not but the session IPA that I was served had no resemble to an IPA. Not hoppy and with a weird after taste. May have be a batch that did not work out and was now being sold a "session" IPA. Server said that had a hoppier IPA but it... More

Brother in law had visited here a few years ago, so we came to take a photo for him and have a beer. It was too crowded so we went else where for to eat and returned later for a beer. We thought we ordered the session IPA, but reckon we got the (pleasant) seasonal offering - only stayed for... More

We were staying in Silverton for some off-road adventures and found this little gem the first night, and stopped by pretty much every other. The beer is great and the pizza good, be sure to give the Glass Off session IPA some love (found it better than the bigger Sultan). They also had a Rhubarb Gose on tap that is... More

The IPA and the Wit are great brews and sitting on the porch with a brew and the view of the mountains after a long day hiking in the mountains---life doesn't get much better.
