Good place to see the history of ridgeway. Excellent chips and salsa but my hamburger didn't taste good.

Had a great meal....coupled with the friendly service, this is a place I'll keep on my "gotta do it again list!" Not only was the food great, there was a lot of it. Then to top it off our server asked if we were Veterans ( we both are, and my husband was wearing a service-themed t-shirt); so she gave... More
I love True Grit for being a solid, great meal. Prices are good, quality is good, service is good and atmosphere is good. But they don't have Blueberry Pie everyday. That sucks. If in Ridgway, you're gonna eat here. I mean, come on. Where else? So ask for Blueberry. Let's start a movement. I'll see you in March.
Busy, but worth the wait and gives time to soak up all the John Wayne decorations, he'd be proud. They dropped the Rueben (that was a namesake!) and some other stuff but still a wide selection. I had the buffalo burger....was okay but obviously from a frozen patty. Lady had vegetarian chili heaped broccoli, she loved it. I also had... More
We had dinner here and it was very good. There's lots of True Grit memorabilia to look at on the walls. Located right downtown so you can walk around before dinner or afterwards.
What a wonderful little place. We went here for dinner while on vacation and were pleasantly surprised. Upon entering you will notice the beautiful stone fireplace, rustic wood floors and plenty of John Wayne memorabilia. Our server was very friendly and and quick. True Grit has some excellent specialty drinks. Ladies try the Pink Panties drink. For dinner ordered the... More
True Grit is a "hoot"! Enjoyed all the John Wayne pictures, etc. Good food! Can get very busy, but the staff can "work it". Special are always nice, food hot, & very good!
This place has the type of food one would expect from a small town cafe, nice hearty portions at decent prices. Would definitely come back.
The waitress was fun, and the food was great! The chicken fried steak was huge and perfectly prepared. The beer's cold, and the smiles abound. There are John Wayne photos and memorabilia everywhere. Enjoy!
What can I say. From the name on the wall, to the photographs in the hall, True Grit Café was definitely worth the bother of the local construction. My brother had eaten there before, but this was my first time. We were waiting to go back to the Dallas Divide for the sunset so arrived a little before the supper... More
