booked my son's confirmation lunch here - lovely setting, very relaxed and family friendly. Great for lunches too. Try the local beer and kombucha on draft - excellent!
Well presented and really tasty food. Friendly and efficient service even when busy! Great spot for a pint and a hearty meal.
Was out for a drive with my mam and decided to stop off here Lovely friendly staff and atmosphere Food was really nice Really cosy
We have dined in lock13 many times with different friends having over. Unfortunately this time it was big disappointment. Quality was down on food and service. Our all times favourite coconut curry tasted like vegetable soup without a curry and without coconut. Burger arrived cold....And the wings were dried. We asked waitress to check with chef if chips are cooked in same oil as bacon but we never got the answer. Another issue was with booking time. Originally we asked to be booked for 6pm but was told not available. So we took the 5.30 one but until we left there were still many empty tables... We left tip as there was 5 of us but wouldn't vosit any time soon if the quality will not be better. Was no atmosphere as usual and we were sitted upstairs which felt excluded. This is not the lock we used to come to. Don't know if it was once off or extreme cost cutting tactics after pandemic.More
Everything was perfect with this place. Food was delicious matched with great Kildare brewing beer. I had wings, beef burger and pints of Flanagan's stout. They brought out a birthday candle for my brothers birthday, splitting the bill was mad easy thanks to our waiter...LiamMore
Visited here recently with a group of friends who some are interested in craft beers & others not, but by the end of our time here all we're raving about the beers made on site & the excellent food we recieved. Ordered the Prawn Pil...Pil to start and the prawns were succulent & tender, perfect amount of spice, steak sandwich for mains was beautifully cooked (nice touch to ask how we wanted it cooked) and sautéed onions with rocket leaves matched with a red ale (recommended by our server) finished it off nicely. All others in our party were very happy with their meals, think there was Curry & Burgers. To finish I had Chocolate Brownie with a can of Baby Boom Milk Stout, both delicious. Service throughout was very efficient & friendly, all Covid procedures were explained and checked before seating at our table. The pub itself had a nice old world feel and warm decor, will defo be back, Simple fare done well. Well done.More
I often dine at Lock 13 but the quality of food served last evening can only be described as poor. My colleague ordered the burger and its presentation was poor. Tasted fine, but presentation left a lot to be desired. I had the steak sandwich...and it was inedible. No fat was trimmed off the meat that appeared to be a piece of rump steak. Sent back and while offered an alternative, the evening was spoiled. It was left off the bill - thankfully. It was disappointing to have to write this review for a very good place. I hope that this was a once off, but when customers do reference it then one expects staff to have a more proactive approach.More
I booked an indoor table for 4 for dinner with my family for dinner and when we arrived we received a friendly welcome and as the weather was nice the lady's asked if we would like to be seated outside, which we did. The outside...dining area was lovely and there nobody seated at the table beside us and our order was taken promptly, food arrived and it was nice until after about 10 minutes of being seated a group 10 diners started to arrive and were seated beside our table, one of the group was practically sitting on my shoulder and given the situation with covid and social distance I felt uncomfortable. We finished our mains quickly and left without ordering deserts or coffee as the experience was uncomfortable. I explained to the lady why I was leaving and she went outside to check and asked the diner to adjust his seating, he moved about an inch and made some stupid smart comments, the lady did ask if we wanted to be moved but unfortunately the experience was gone. They agreed the seating was to close apologised and took a small token amount of the bill and we left. I do appreciate that we could have asked to be moved but we didn't want to make a fuss and we shouldn't have been put in that uncomfortable situation to begin with. The staff could clearly see that the group were seated to close to us but that's just another example of sales before safety in these covid times. Hopefully they wil be more aware of the social distancing in the future.More
