Tried an Armadillo Egg and found a new favorite! An organic hard boiled egg coated with jalapeno cream cheese wrapped in sausage coated with potato chip crumbles then baked. YUM. Lots of protein with just the right amount of carbs and fat. Spicy tasty but...not too hot.More
and a light lunch or brunch too! This cozy meeting place is just around the corner of the strip mall that houses the Monument library. The coffee is tops and reasonably priced. Great place to enjoy time with a friend while enjoying their freshly baked...muffins. The bagel selection and choice of "fillings" won't disappoint.More
The Italian Job and Posh Grilled Cheese sandwiches are delish. The pastries could use improvement. Tea is great and coffee is pretty good. The shop is adorable. This is by far the best coffee shop in Monument
I needed a place for a morning business meeting and found Wesley Owens. This place is a pinch off the main highway but definitely not "out of the way." First thing I noticed was the variety of seating and openness - - couches, two-top, four...tops, large table area and the place was rather full and you did not notice a lot of noise like other coffee shops in the area especially the "chain" coffee shops. A large and unusual assortment of coffee, tea and smoothies all at a good price. I had the Tokyo fog, a creamy, macha tea drink that was great. An assortment of food too from breakfast burritos (my business partner said it was great) with an awesome looking green chili sauce to scones and assorted sweets. They have local crafts for sale as well. The gentleman who served me from the counter was awesome complete with telling me not only a description of all the drinks, but making sure I knew what kind of dairy or sweetener was typically in the drink and asking if I needed a substitute. This by far is superior to the other coffee shops on the West side of I-25 in Monument. Real individual customer service and great menu items!More
So, I don't drink coffee but my husband says its very good. I love their Chai. Don't take away my scone or my SOS (only military folks will know what I mean)!
Good place to go solo, with a friend or do some business meeting.
