Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ordered a bento box and chicken katsu plate for lunch takeout and the food was amazing and portions plentiful. New to area and only our 2nd time here but they did not disappoint! Spicy tuna rolls melted in our mouths they were so fresh! So...so much better than grocery store rolls!! Don’t compromise folks- order from here!More

My husband and I went here for dinner as we were going to the nearby Townhall Arts Center for a musical. Maybe we just like sushi with more of a kick, but the two rolls we had were just ok - they were fresh and...the presentation was nice, but they lacked a lot of flavor, even with a wasabi/soy sauce dip. We won’t be in a rush to go back.More

This place is my favorite sushi place I've ever eaten. This review doesn't speak for my other coworkers, but their fried rice itself is on another level. The prices are great for sushi in the Denver metro area, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is...even better. The place is a little small and might need reservations on busy nights, but overall this restaurant is a must go to if you are craving sushi for dinner. Great for families, romantic nights out, business or solo dining.More

We visited on St Patrick's day, so many restaurants packed out the door with drunk or getting-drunk patrons and we found a quieter place to enjoy Japanese food. Miso soup, a salad, ordered edamame and gyoza dumplings, nicely done! We'll come back!

Was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Went on a Friday evening at 5:30 and had reservation for 4. Not real busy when we got there but filled up fast thereafter. The restaurant is small and a little cramped but when you are there for sushi...you are there to enjoy and have fun. The sushi bar had approximately 8 chairs and looked to me to be cramped. The sushi was great and very nicely presented. Lots of folks having the sushi. A couple of us had the other cooked dishes and they came out steaming hot and were really tasty. Soup and salad included with dinner meals. We tried the deserts and there were good too. The tempura cheese cake was unusual and very good. Mochi rice cake in red bean and green tea flavors were good the vanilla was just okay. Prices were reasonable, sushi by the piece was not cheap but I guess that is true most places. They had chef choice sushi platers which are the way to go as it is cheaper. Bring your chopsticks or they will provide. But they only use silverware for deserts. We didn’t ask for silverware as using the chopsticks is part of the fun.More

The sushi options have increased since the new owners and the taste and texture is top notch. Previously the sushi roll cuts were kinda outa-whack ( too thick - too much rice ) but my last visit they were uniform and NOT on the thin...side . Previously they were really falling into a slump with so-so food and very slow service . There has been a turnaround . Great service and pricing .The ambiance is lacking.. but I’m there for the food . If you haven’t been in the past 6 mo or so - I’d say please return and you will be pleasantly surprised.More

Local, small place. My wife and I go here 3-4 times a year when we want low-key, good sushi without the fuss. Sushi specials are interesting. Fish is fresh, bar is small but they do a decent job on drinks. Not fancy, but priced right...and the opposite of pretentious - which is nice.More

Four of recently enjoyed a dinner at Sushi Basho. Even though we went at normal dinner-time, they had two-for-one hot sakes (nice!). We got miso (vegetarian), edamame, multiple veggie sushi rolls and a fried rice. All were tasty and fresh and the chef was happy...to make modifications for us. The atmosphere is okay, nothing special but not bad. The waitstaff all seem to be Japanese (speaking broken English). The service is good. I would go back. The price was reasonable for how much we got too.More

Sushi Basho has good sushi at great prices. We rarely have to wait for a table, but they consistently are busy. On our last visit we ate with a group of 6, our service was impeccable and the food came out quick. By no means...is this the best sushi I've had, but if your looking for a quick fix with good prices, and great service this is the place.More

This is a great sushi restaurant - and reasonably priced. The fish is always fresh. The place is popular - arrive early for dinner. Best yellow tail I've had - also excellent dynamite.

I have been several times and even crowded it is quieter than many similar restaurants. The sushi is usually very good, sometimes excellent and occasionally just good. I have never thought it was average to poor. Service is good without being pushy. Parking can be...very difficult though and they aren't always open when website says they will be. But I will go back. I pick my times due to sometimes having to park a block or two away.More

My husband and I have eaten sushi and many of the other popular places in the Denver area, and we prefer the smaller, cozy and more casual atmosphere of Sushi Basho. The food is spectacular, both in flavor and preparation. The servers are friendly and...pleasant, and attentive. Sake is available by the glass or bottle, as well as wine and beer. Once you've dined here, you won't bother with the 'big' place again!More
