The owners are grumpy from reservations to check in. The room needs major updating and cleaning. We didn't shower due to the yucky film and ring in the tub. Some of the outlets didn't work so we had to move the TV stand to plug into another outlet to watch the TV. We tried to get another room in the... More

My wife and I have a summer place in the small remote mountain town of Lake City, CO. We make 5-7 visits to Lake City a year and make a point to eat at Bruno's Alpine Moose each trip. The food is unexpectedly amazing for a small seasonal tourist town. Chef Bruno and his wife are from France and they... More

Bruno's is a solid place to get a good meal. Costs are expensive for the town but I think the quality was worth it. The menu was a little all over the place. Chicken parm was very good and the chicken was moist and the pasta was tasty. Escargot was awesome. The service was fantastic. We had a party of... More

Our first visit had us seated in the restaurant side where we enjoyed a leisurely two hour dinner in the European fashion. It is small, elegant and relaxing. The spinach mushroom soup was flavorful. There was a bit of a hiccup in the service when it was served prior to the appetizer of the house made "Gravlax". The appetizer was... More

Been coming here for years, and the food and wine are always good. Ingredients are fresh, and there's plenty of variety.

A group of 8 we were traveling around Colorado riding ATV trails. Made a reservation at Alpine Moose Lodge not knowing anything about the restaurant. Bruno the owner was very charming not gruf at all. He held his Grill open for our last friend to join us who was late because of United Airlines. The food and service, simple put,... More

After looking at Lake City, CO guide and deciding which restaurant my family (10+ of us) should eat at while on our vacation I called Bruno's Restaurant and Grill. First the phone was answered in a very grumpy HELLO. I asked if I had reached the restaurant he said yes in a pretty heavy accent that I had a hard... More

My family did not eat at this restaurant but were turned away rudely on Mother's Day 2013. We saw an OPEN sign in the window as we were driving into town and stopped to eat. The owner, with a very heavy accent, told us that they weren't taking any more! Well, what did that mean since it was a lodge... More

We ate here twice, once in the Grill & once in the Restaurant. Both times our meals were excellent although we enjoyed the Restaurant a bit more. However, the Restaurant is a bit more expensive. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow, probably because of the limited number of staff. Be sure to call for a... More

Note the comments from others about children in this restaurant. They aren't really wanted. There's actually two sides to the place - the "fancy" side and the "grill" side, the former being to the right when you enter, the other to the left. They each have their own menu. When a family member went to make a reservation for the... More
