I have never had a bad meal here and the weekly specials are wonderful. And the oysters and catfish, pretty much unheard of in Durango, are always fresh. Great atmosphere and authentic New Orleans style food.

Please don't go here. It's too wonderful and we want to keep it to ourselves. This charming roadhouse is tucked away so you'll pass it if you aren't looking for it. Just adds to the overall surprise of a great restaurant with very good food....More

Oh, my gosh. Read your headline and almost panicked. That quickly turned into a belly laugh. Thank you for the review, Godu. It is much appreciated.

We took a friend here for a birthday celebration. It was crowded inside so we sat outside. Lots of cajun menu choices and fresh oysters.

I don't think you can respond to our response, Joy. We are curious if the shrimp and grits were the BBQ shrimp or were they blackened... I guess either one could keep the cheese grits from looking nice and pretty. Also wish you told us...More

Oysters were great. All the food was well prepared and tasty! My only disappointment was the beignets. I've been to Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans and that is the only way to make them. The other disappointment is that they are only open 3...More

Thank you for the kind words Russell. We're really glad you enjoy coming to the Roadhouse. So far as our bartender, Shawn goes, he really works hard. However, your thoughts are heard, and we will share them with him. ~Nick

Thank you for the awesome words, Hummingbird. Knowing what we do about hummingbirds, it shouldn't take you too long to get to everything. Well, that depends on how often you can get in. We hope to see you a lot. Thanks again.

Description
Eat, Drink & Have Fun With Us at the Highway 3 Roadhouse & Oyster Bar. The Highway 3 Roadhouse & Oyster Bar is known as a local's hangout after work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday-the only days we're open. When you come and visit, you are sure to experience some of the best Cajun, Creole and Southern food with recipes straight from Louisiana. Buried back off Highway 3 in Durango, you have to know that you are looking for us to find us. While we are considered a local's secret, we do let outsiders in. Why would anyone go to such trouble to get here? Maybe the answer is in some of our reviews. Here's what a reviewer from Arizona posted on TripAdvisor: "Worth the wait! The food is fresh and wonderful .. service is great, and atmosphere is friendly. Only open 3 days a week, but well worth a dinner here! Oysters are fresh ( try the fried ones ! ), and blackened catfish is awesome. Just love an evening out here and the menu is always changing, so the specials are fresh and fun .. LOVE this place!" From the foregoing, you know that we have a Cajun/Creole/Southern based menu with oysters and catfish. We bet you will also like our etouffee, soft shell crabs, crawfish and awesome mac & cheese. Be sure to save room at the end for one of our sweets such as the bread puddin' with whisky sauce. Take a look at our menu to see everything but the specials. You can catch those on our Facebook page where they are normally posted on Wednesday mornings. We look forward to meeting you!
