Wanting a light dinner, we shared a house salad and pizza marghereta. They were both excellent. Had we spent longer in Durango, we definitely would have revisited the Chimayo and eaten more.

Interesting menu, friendly staff (Mike and Kali), and great food. They make some terrific martinis and beverages. We had the queso which was put in their fire over giving it a Smokey flavor. Nice selection of food and drinks. Definitely a stop if you are...More

Such a great menu and great food! Fun place to eat too! Might be a bit pricey but still enjoyed everything we had and will be going back soon!

We had dinner here both nights of our stay in Durango. Great food and very good, friendly service. One favorite was their orange cheesecake. Scrumptious!

Good idea, could have used a tastier nut-based batter. Pepitas are ok, but they lose they flavor when heated. Pecan might have been better. But then you lose the cachet of southwestern connotation. You can't say, "Chimayo," and then lump in pecans. Or can you?...More

The weekend we were in Durango was extremely busy with various events, fall colors. We walked in with no reservations, our mistake, but found a seat at the bar which was fine while we waited for another to open. The bartenders worked as hard as...More

You can see the pizzas going into the oven. Much more than just a pizzeria, excellent variety of choice. Was there for lunch, would return for dinner if I was spending more time in Durango.

Lots of familiar and unusual menu choices. They had just introduced their fall menu. We had the squash fondue, which was delicious, and a pizza Margarita. It was noisy, but didn't interfere with conversation. Great service by Megan.

We only accept reservation for parties of 6 or more. If your party is smaller than that, we are extremely efficient and you should not wait long, if at all.

Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen is a contemporary American bistro with a southwestern flair. Fresh salads, creative small plates, artisanal pizzas, and fire-roasted steaks, chicken and seafood are prepared in twin 600+ degree stone hearth ovens in an open kitchen. The Owners have restored the interior of the historic Century Building on Main Avenue, revealing turn-of-the century Carnegie steel support beams, the original maple hardwood floor and decorative tin ceiling tiles, and the original brick wall. These historical elements, along with the expo kitchen, rollup windows, and 35-foot curved bar, create an urban industrial loft setting for a unique Durango dining experience.
