I forgot the name of the sandwich that we ordered, but it had prosscuitto, basil, tomato & cheese on artisan bread. Absolutely wonderful! The staff is friendly & the customer service will keep folks coming back. I could eat there every day-such great food!

Nothing ordinary about this restaurant with inventive options to drink, eat, and finish a meal. Fun atmosphere is original.

Huge wood fired ovens. Exposed brick Tuscan decor. In the downtown, heart of historic Durango. Best ceviche ever! Also had garlic, mushroom wood-fired pizza. I don't know what kind if cheese they used on the pizza, but it was absolutely fabulous. Wonderful! Full service bar.

Just finished eating Chimayo's house salad with the very best salmon I've ever eaten. Our waiter, Tim was well versed on the topic of salmon. This was Scottish, and seriously cooked and seasoned to perfection. Tim was an excellent server on a very busy Saturday...More

We stopped into Chimayo for lunch. Our server, Samantha, was wonderful. We had the chicken apple quinoa salad and the southwestern salad with steak. Steak was cooked to order and we both enjoyed the flavors of the salads. The menu has good variety and a...More

Best pizza I have had in a long time. Got the Margherita pizza. Perfect size for my husband and I to share. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Meal came very quickly. Finished off dinner with Baileys and coffee.

We were not sure about the dress code when we first looked at this place, but it turned out to be a casual dining place and was well-worth the stop. Our waitress was very friendly and asked out our day. She did a great job...More

We were lured in due to the great curb side appeal. Its adorable. I wish we had gone elsewhere. The food looks fancy but lacks in quality. My trout cake was burnt on the bottom (hidden from view but not from taste). My husband's steak...More

We only accept reservation for parties of 6 or more. If your party is smaller than that, we are extremely efficient and you should not wait long, if at all.

Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen is a contemporary American bistro with a southwestern flair. Fresh salads, creative small plates, artisanal pizzas, and fire-roasted steaks, chicken and seafood are prepared in twin 600+ degree stone hearth ovens in an open kitchen. The Owners have restored the interior of the historic Century Building on Main Avenue, revealing turn-of-the century Carnegie steel support beams, the original maple hardwood floor and decorative tin ceiling tiles, and the original brick wall. These historical elements, along with the expo kitchen, rollup windows, and 35-foot curved bar, create an urban industrial loft setting for a unique Durango dining experience.
