The remodeling of this place has been a 25-year project - a little at a time. The ambiance gets better but I do not think their food is near as good as it was years ago.

Most of the things on the menu can be found at most of the other Mexican restaurants in the area, but the food is really good here. They have some extras, too, that I haven't seen at other places such as the fish dishes and my favorite - queso fundido con chorizo. It's a nice sit down restaurant - stone... More

I had this place bookmarked (not sure why) and finally got around to trying it out. Pretty straight up divey Mexican restaurant. I judge my Mexican restaurants all on the same three things: Chips, Salsa and their Burrito. The chips and salsa were very good. Chips seemed fresh and the salsa was not too spicy. The burrito was perfect. Right... More

The atmosphere is ok, especially when the Mariachis are playing. I have tried this place a number of times and have sadly had the same experience, extraordinarily average Mexican food. Service is ok.

Not so much a touristy type place. More authentic. And the folk who eat there are certainly expert in the cuisine so that's another testimony. And, certainly MUCH better than average. Some days they have an outstanding Mariachi group. We haven't found anything on the menu we didn't like. Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. Try some of the seafood.... More

Had lunch here with a group of hungry college kids. This is the real deal for mexican food. Excellent food, good prices and a lively mariachi band playing on Sunday afternoon.

We had three different meals and all of us enjoyed our food. We ordered the fresh guacamole as an app and Fajitas, carnittas and green chili as our main meal. All of it came out very tasty.

So if you're into decor, you will be able to find a better place to visit. The decor is not the reason to come here but the food... well that's another story. This is a family restaurant that serves great Mexican food. The night we were there the parking lot was packed but we were seated quickly and the waitress... More

We have been going to El Tejado for years. Great food, fun family atmosphere, good prices and great service. The food is authentic Tex-Mex so you won't be disappointed by any weird flavors or "new Mexican" dishes. The salsa is always garden fresh and typically packs a spicy punch...we go through at least three bowls. My daughter is not yet... More
