I had the pork kicking green chili and it did not disappoint. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Will definitely be back for seconds next time I'm in town

This is a fun breakfast spot in the heart of Downtown Denver. It’s has a long tradition and plenty of patrons. If you are looking for a hipster spot this is not it. This is your good old fashioned diner. Enjoy!

Sams #3 is a friendly, with a huge assortment of comfort food with great service. If you can feel comfortable in an older-diner setting, it's worth your while to explore this place. The back of the restaurant has the Hammer Bar (with a great Happy...More

Portions are very big. I ordered the pork chili breakfast burrito which was very good. It filled the plate - I couldn't finish it but wanted too"! The huevos rancheros was extra large and just as tasty.....worth the wait. Seats at counter are first come...More

I had the calves liver and onion. It came with delicious fresh cooked mixed vegetables, choice of potato and a HUGE salad. Service was prompt and professional. Highly recommend!

1000 5 star reviews can’t be wrong. The problem with Sam’s #3 is that it’s so good, so tempting, so freaky fast, so tasty, dang! Just so easy to sit down and order something that you’re going to regret in the morning. But hey, life’s...More

Waited about 20 minutes for a table but worth it. A favorite for locals and tourists, breakfast is served all day and coffee is great. Do not hesitate for this place. Portions are large.

Busy place, get there early. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good varied menu and went wit( the chicken fried steak, was excellent but potatoes were under whelming, no seasoning and bland.

We stopped for dinner and had a great meal. The staff was friendly. The food was good. It’s a diner with tons of stuff to choose from. I would definitely go back again. I would recommend the buffalo burger. Also try the green chili.

Yes, both our Pork and Veggie Kickin' Green Chilis are gluten free. We use corn masa instead of flour. The Original No. 3 Red Chili and Tex-Mex chilis are NOT gluten free. Hope this helps!

Description
Sam’s No. 3™ was the third of five Coney Islands restaurants opened by Sam Armatas during the 1920′s. The original location was at 1527 Curtis Street in the heart of downtown Denver. On Sept. 28th, 1998, Sam’s son, Spero, with his grandsons Sam, Alex, and Patrick, re-established his most famous of the Coney Islands restaurants, Sam’s No. 3™. In honor of the age old tradition, they made a promise to each other to continue to provide excellent quality of food and embrace the inviting, warm atmosphere started by “Mr. Sam” more than 75 years ago!In April 2011, our little kitchen was featured on Food Networks "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". We were selected because so many local fans had written. A must-stop on any trip to Denver.
