Hosted a large group at the Buckhorn Exchange. It's a little off the beaten path but is quite the Denver tradition. It's not at all suitable for vegetarians - or for people who have a problem with taxidermied game animals. I actually loved the trophy displays, so for me it was a positive! I had a tenderloin steak which was... More

Other reviewers are spot on: have a drink for a look around, but don't stay for the food. Should be cool experience with amazing food, but in reality just huge portions of (fried) mediocre...

This was a very neat experience. The interior is literally covered with mounted animals - from monkeys to elk - you name it! We ordered the Rocky Mountain oysters just to say we tried them - they were served very hot with 2 dipping sauces - marinara and horseradish. I really didn't expect to like them but they were surprisingly... More

If you like history and nostalgia go take a look, and have a drink. If you like good food and service run away. Over $50 for steak with crappy sides and a lame salad.

Buffalo sausage appetizer was good ,bread served was dry and tasteless, rice was salty baked potato wet skinned. Meat was good. Overpriced, but the place was very cool, lots to see, get there early to see the collection of early frontier items. One time visit for me.

Ate here twice when I visited Denver in 2010. The first occasion, I had dinner and I will say, I had to wait like almost an hour for a table. However I was satisfied with the way my meal was cooked. The Elk was tasty and so too were the 2 quails. The staff and servers were very polite. Loved... More

I went here on the recommendation of a friend. The place is definitely interesting to look at. I think at least one stuffed head of every game anamil one can imagine and I think they were all represented on the menu as well. What really caught my eye were the prices. Holy cow,(no pun:-) The prices were what you would expect... More

Admittedly, I'm not the one to be reviewing a restaurant like this. I prefer food that has been harvested from the ground or the sea. My husband had eaten here several years ago and insisted we dine here on a recent trip to Denver. Unfortunately, there was nothing on the menu that appealed to me. I might have ordered the... More

We knew the restaurant was known for it's unusual décor and we enjoyed it, taking time to walk all through the restaurant while we waited for our food to be served. What really pleased me, though, was the food. Each of the three meals served at our table generated moans of pleasure. I am glad we chose this restaurant for... More
