Arrived at 7 ish on a Friday night and the place was rammed. We sat at the bar and ordered beers and sharing plates and had such a great night. The food was awesome and the staff were friendly and fun to talk to. Would definitely go back.

I had not been to Denver for a long time. So I just started walking and found this place in Larimar Square. It looked very busy, so I thought it must be pretty good. It is loud, but people are generally very happy here, so a lot of laughter and gaiety going on. I sat at the bar and was... More

It's a great place to swing in for happy hour. It gives you a chance to try things out at a reasonable cost. The food is fresh, clearly made with fresh ingredients. The classic margarita is fantastic and there is a variety of other drink choices. It has a nice atmosphere and the service is attentive and friendly.

This restaurant has a nice location within Larimar Square--- easy to get to and with outside seating - weather permitting. Positives: menu, location, vibe, courteous staff, and GREAT GUACAMOLE. To be improved upon: a slow wait staff. We recommend it.

I confess I went with a relatively large group of people and that may explain things. The restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican dishes. The wine list was very good. I split an appetizer of gorditos with a colleague. They were good (though more greasy than what one can get at top restaurants in Los Angeles). The pork carnitas was served... More

We went in for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and were seated and ordered drinks before being told only the happy hour menu is served between 4 and 6 pm. Happy hour was just snacks so we got chips and guacamole and it was very tasty. Then we walked across the street and got dinner!

We went to Tamayo this past weekend. First off, the service was excellent. Seated exactly at reservation time, filled water constantly, attentive waitstaff, friendly host. The food was excellent. Often there are not many choices for vegetarians- here there are! The dishes we had were creative and delicious. Even the tortillas were excellent. Best mexican food I've had outside of... More

I visited twice in one week. Happy hour tapas and drinks are a bargain. The mushroom flat bread is outstanding. The “pig gave twice”bacon wrapped hotdog has a great smoky flavor. For a larger plate try the chicken mole. Only note, turn up your plate warmer or just serve food a few degrees hotter.

It was ok mexican food. Too expensive for mexican. Pork had a bad aftertaste...like mutton. Did not get tortillas with carne asada or the pork carnitas. Rice and beans extra charge....what????

The menus at Tamayo offer a modern interpretation of authentic Mexican food with recipes created by critically acclaimed Chef/Owner Richard Sandoval at his Maya Restaurant in New York City. Our warm decor is spectacular with amber & coral colored walls featuring exquisite artwork that includes silver encrusted toucans, silver and volcanic rock guacamole bowls & Mayan masks to keep a watchful eye over the restaurant. Tamayo is truly a unique dining experience for intimate business luncheons, dinners, social events and large celebrations as well.
