Last year I found myself in Utah on my birthday and it was the first time in 8 years I couldn’t spend it at Sushi Den. This year, I was thrilled to be back. This isn’t only the best sushi in town, it’s the best...sushi I’ve ever had anywhere. (Going to Kyoto in September,,, that may change) This time we did the Chef's Table. Extremely limited seating and reserved eons ago. Truly amazing sushi and the details given about each offering was fascinating. Yasu broke down each dish and the origin of the components flown in fresh from Tokyo each day. My parents had their first date here in the early 80’s and I’ve loved it since I grew into trying raw fish. It’s hands down a place I’d go every day if I won the lottery, which brings me to the prices. Flying in the best fish on the planet to be crafted and served by elite sushi artists is understandably prohibitively expensive. The chef’s table STARTS at $150/person before drinks, tip or taxes. Totally worth it for the experience and amazing tastes, but be forewarned. I still think it should be called Sushi DENver.More
