I'd wanted to dine here since I moved to the area a few years ago. The food is outstanding and the service was impeccable. I took my date (our first) and enjoyed a few starters and she nibbled on my entree. The decor and atmosphere...More

Had a meal there with a longtime friend on a restricted diet. Not only did they squeeze us in thanks to a reservation no-show, they accommodated the diet request with enthusiasm - I think they took it as fun chef challenge. Service impeccable as always.

I have had many amazing meals at rootdown. It is always delicious and the caramel dessert was fab. I love the 50’s mechanical decor and the cocktails at the bar were delicious.

Went during happy hour. Food was very good, especially the arepas-one if the best arepas I’ve ever had. Sangria was good-not watered down.

Great food, great atmosphere. Pricey for the portions, and our server was kinda MIA a lot, but not a reason to not go back.

Root Down is a very tightly packed venue with no major open space for a dog. As a dog owner, I wish US laws would be more like France where dogs in restaurants are a common event.

Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
