Really love the farm to table food at Root Down. The cocktails are very original and unique. I had the beet down cocktail with gin, beets and mint and it was delicious. The Hibiscus Maragrita is also great. We were 6 friends out to dinner...More

Always on the lookout for healthier eateries in Denver (preferably ones that aren't too trendy) and finally got around to trying this place. Location is a bit off the beaten path of Larimer Square but a short Uber ride. It's a busy place, so line...More

We landed in the LoHi neighborhood of Denver and did a nearby brunch search. It resulted in Root Down, which is highly rated and deserves it! Excellent service and a solid menu. Bottomless mimosas that were perfection.

Root Down offers upscale food and drinks, which is a plus and a minus in my book. It’s plates are well-balanced and beautiful, but they are lacking in quantity. I had the Three Chili Chicken, which was delicious, but I left hungering for more. Add...More

Had a lovely dinner on the covered patio. Crab and avocado tacos to start were fresh, light and tasty. My husband enjoyed the rock fish and I loved the poblano chicken. Definitely recommend!

Root Down has slipped a bit but is still one of Denver’s best. Everything is solid — from service to drinks to food to deserts —

We dined here last week. This is a quaint little place in the Highland section of Denver. We enjoyed sitting outside in the cool evening mountain air (it is too hot & humid to do this in Charleston). I chose this place because it is...More

This restaurant in LoHi has very unique and masterfully prepared dishes that have multiple layers of complex flavors. The restaurant is dedicated to using only organic and as much local fare as they can. The menu has small plates that are very original and pleasing...More

We stopped in for dinner after being having this restaurant out of our rotation. Wow! While there is a wide variety of menu items several fit our vegan / vegetarian parameters. The dishes were fantastic. We will get this restaurant back in our rotation.

Root Down is a very tightly packed venue with no major open space for a dog. As a dog owner, I wish US laws would be more like France where dogs in restaurants are a common event.

Unless we're going very early would try to find babysitter...is loud and crowded and unless your child is used to crowds would probably find somewhere else to go...many other restaurants around

Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
