We peered into the shop several times after reading their menu. We finally made it to grab lunch. We had a delicious chicken salad on wheat with a variety of vegetables for only $7.75. We also had the chicken Caesar which was equally fresh and delicious. We will definitely return when back in town.

While visiting the new baby I picked up several meals from why cook? All were fresh and delicious. The shepherd's pie was especially good. And the chocolate mousse was outstanding. Why cook is a tremendous help for those busy times. We purchased a gift certificate for use by the new parents over the next month.

My husband and I popped in here while visiting Crested Butte. I had the veggie sandwich on dark wheat, which was delicious. He had the Italian on whit and raved about it, too. Great lunch spot!

Wonderful takeout. Made from scratch salads, pasta, deserts. Great sandwiches and soups. It's just wonderfully consistent and you never get anything that's not delicious.

Go for the Hungarian Mushroom Soup, if nothing else. It is fabulous. The soups are in containers sized for two in a little freezer. The are several other soups, like tomato gorgonzola, but the mushroom is the ticket. I've never had anything like it. Take it back to your kitchen, place in a sauce pan on low, and get ready... We are there for a week and like to go out 2 or 3 times but the rest of the time we like to eat in.Fortunately we discovered Why Cook many years ago and purchase most of our meals there. Their food... More

The chicken salad sandwich was made just the way i like it. Breads made fresh. Not a huge variety but what they have looks really good tho a little pricy. But it is a ski resort after all.

A great meal - maybe a touch on the expensive side, but great for a special occasion. Ladies, be a little careful re the plateful sizes - definitely go for the smaller size ... unless you have a BIG appetite!

Well-made, delicious sandwiches on fresh baked rolls. Create your own or try the daily special. Service is usually outstanding - quick and friendly. Tomato gorgonzola soup is really good. In fact the soups are so good, my aunt ordered 12 pints to take home to Texas. That was a lot of soup! They also offer prepared entrees and desserts, but... More
