A great restaurant for tasty basic food with the bonus of beer, wine and whatever. A good family place with friendly service that was a little slow, but we hit it at prime time.

We had a Black-Eyed Pea restaurant in our area of Colorado (Ft. Collins) for many years, but it was closed-down several years ago, which really disappointed us. We were delighted to find a Black-Eyed Pea near our hotel in Colorado Springs! We enjoyed a very nice "comfort food" dinner there - I had chicken-fried-chicken and my husband had chicken-fried-steak. We... More

We do not have Black-Eyed Pea establishments in our area - Every time we see one when we are traveling, we always have to stop - The chicken fried steak was good and I love the baked squash and broccoli/cheese casserole - Good food and good service

You're gonna get some home-cookin' at Black-eyed Pea. The dinner rolls and cornbread muffins are a strong start to the meal. Very tasty. I had the glazed ham/turkey combo. The meats were very flavorful - especially the ham. It was pretty great. The grilled corn on the cob was also strong; it had a nice smoky taste.

We revisited this Black Eyed Pea due to excellent previous experiences. But today was a disappointment: -The bread was cold and hard -The green chili burger tasted like it came out of a can -We asked for well done and received what looked like a charcoal briquette -The cornbread just was not up to what we remember It is unfortunate... A Sunday family dinner for eight cost $95 (before tip), so we can't do that very often. Mom's meatloaf ($11.99) was ordered by two on the recommendation of a third. The joint opinion was not memorable and salty. Both large caliente and bleu cheese burgers were cooked to order at $9.89 accompanied by fries or onion rings. Grilled turkey burger... More

I hadn't been to this Black Eyed Pea for many years. I remember that the food was good and reasonably priced, but previously the service was too slow for my lunch hour. I gave them a shot today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the prompt and attentive service. The food was as good as I remember - nothing... More

This place used to be a staple for me but isn't where I live. However I was temporarily in Colorado and saw the BEP, so we went. We weren't disappointed. I had the catfish. Others had chicken fried chicken and meatloaf. Loved the rolls and cornbread. We will definitely return if in the area.

They used to be in Kansas City in the 90's, it was a family favorite of ours when I was a kid. So driving around Colorado Springs and spotting it, I had to stop. Food is still amazingly good. You get these amazing rolls and corn bread. There are lunch specials 7.99 -8.99, dinner plates or regular items run from... More

It was pretty much what I expected - a little more adult and a little more expensive Cracker Barrel. I had chicken fried steak, Mashed potatoes and fried okra. The steak and potatoes were good (maybe a little more gravy on the potatoes would have been nice) and the okra was tops. My server was Curtis who was very professional... More
