Good down-home food. I have a weakness for their broccoli-cheese soup and fried shrimp dinner on the senior menu. Seniors get soft drinks free. The staff is great, and it seems that you are in a small town diner that has a warm and welcoming feeling.

On the last few visits it seems the quality of the food and the waitstaff has gone downhill. New servers seem aggravated with requests for extra napkins, butter, or more rolls. The roast beef came out fatty and gristyl - not at all good. The mashed potatoes were cold and the fried okra was mostly the tops of the okra... More

I had the cobb salad and it was outstanding. Others in our group had the ribs and also the chicken and it was terrific as well. The service was tremendous even though we had an extremely large group the server did a terrific job getting everybody what they wanted in a quick and efficient manner. We will be back.

I love Blackeyed Pea for a quick, yummy meal. I gave a 4 today instead of a 5 because I came into the restaurant late in the afternoon while the restaurant was empty, and yet, service was a bit slow (everyone was cleaning), the food was a bit cold, and the green beans were overcooked. I hoped the server would... More

I had never been to a Black-eyed Pea before. There was a great selection of entrees with a long list of available sides. Portions were large and the food was very tasty. Service was good and the prices were very reasonable. Excellent value for the money!

The food was good and it was within walking distance to our hotel, so that was nice. Our server was a little over chatty with us, but she was friendly.

I had grilled liver and onions and it was delicious but did'n't care for the mashed potatoes, lots of lumps . The squash casserole was mainly squash and cheese, not a true casserole.

I went to the restaurant and was seated quickly waiter was at table next to mine when I was seated and saw me. Doesn't greet me or anything. 5 other servers all passed me without a word. After a full 15 minutes in seat, the hostess has walked around area 4 times seating others and tells waiter Steven can you greet... This is a family restaurant that has a home cooked meal style menu. Service was fast and food was good however the wait person couldn't quite get our order correct or get the billing correct. Maybe this person was new on the job.

Thank Paul H
