I arrived with moderate expectations, but found the tea selection to be over the top. I ordered breakfast (Chai pancakes, eggs and the thickest cut of ham I have ever seen), and my server was knowledgeable, and helpful. When you add the fantastic decor (The...More

Tried this on a local recommendation and it was nice to get away from the normal Colorado style restaurant. The food was interesting: better than what I had in Central Asia, but still not a taste sensation. Worse was the service which started abrupt and...More

A beautiful Sunday afternoon meal was served. We were a party of 22 and we were treated like royalty. The setting is lovely and the craftsmanship of the building is phenomenal inside and out! The history of the building is quite amazing. The teas offered...More

Great Food! Love the Kofta and the tea-based drinks. Try the Lavender Mule! The real spectacle is the gorgeous building that was imported (in pieces) from Boulder's sister city Dushambe in Kazakhstan. It was in a warehouse for several years but once assembled- it's just...More

For lovers of architecture this place might be best toured just for the building. We went for the works. The tea and desserts were fantastic. The salad contained black bits of rotten lettuce. We didn't eat that bit but the Royal Korma was quite good...More

Description
The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse is nestled against the Rocky Mountain Foothills in Boulder Colorado. Sitting alongside Boulder Creek in Central Park, the Teahouse is considered one of Boulder's most attractive and popular tourist attractions, as well as being a local favorite for great food, tea, and atmosphere. Completely built by hand without the use of any power tools, the Teahouse was constructed in Dushanbe, Tajikistan as a gift to their sister city, Boulder. It was disassembled, crated up, and sent halfway around the world to be rebuilt in Boulder as a symbol of friendship and cultural exploration. The elaborate and creative teahouse now sits as a reminder to the citizens of Boulder to value cultural diversity, global cooperation, and international friendship.
