This place is trying to hard to be unique. They serve a dish that the waiter describe as a type of a fajita dish, I believe it was called mocajito. So we get this super hot crock with raw onions, tomatoes in a tomato juice with two pieces of beef jerky type meat, two small pieces of chewy chicken and... More

Went here with a large group from work, we were the only table occupied on a Friday around noon. The decor in this place is pretty nice, tables are comfortable and it was a good place to be able to talk to one another. The chips salsa and guacamole are nothing special, kind of on the small portion size. Enchiladas... More

This place is trying to be something that it cannot obtain. Fine (and expensive) Mexican food they are not. They seemed understaffed during our visit. Our waiter was so new that he didn't even know the menu. The fajita were cold and terrible. Shouldn't they be sizzling when the arrive at the table. Mine were so cool that the waiter... More

and outstanding Mexican food. Don't bypass the chance of eating and enjoying the service at this restaurant. We made reservations but our party of four was running late. The hostess made us feel at ease and even called the other party to make sure, they were fine. Amazing service from the beginning to end. We also had to try the... More

Chanced upon this spot tucked in a strip center. Atmosphere is a little dark but we enjoyed attentive service and a light supper. Tableside guac was the highlight.

On our first visit here we really liked the ambiance, nicely decorated areas both upstairs and downstairs, beautiful cantina and fireplace! We tried every kind of rice and beans they had but found the black beans and the cilantro lime rice not fully cooked, I loved the perfectly done salmon ranchero though! We went back later on and it was... More

The service here is just average. However the tableside guac, the margaritas and the smoked salmon quesadilla are delicious. Great Happy Hour.

Agave deserves a much better write up than the reviews below suggest,at least in terms of the food. We lived in NM for 10 years and not until Agave opened did we find anywhere to have Mexican food in Boulder. We love the mlocajetes and the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. As goods any green sauce we found in Santa... More

Extremely rude general manager. Wanted to treat myself and my family to a rare nice meal for Mother's Day. This was Sunday at 5:30 PM. Not 7 PM on the Saturday night! General manager was openly disgusted at the idea of children being in his restaurant and he was rude the entire time. Service was very slow. Meal was tasteless... More

Our first experience at Agave was less than shiny. We met friends who spoke very highly of the restaurant. Good table, nice greeting (though the hostess could not find our reservation). Server (ticket said his name was Shawn, but I doubt it) seemed competent but proved otherwise throughout our meal. Failed to enter one drink so it took about a... More
