The best Mexican food I've had in a very long time! Authentic flavors, spicy salsa, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Exceeded expectations!

I've been twice with family and my husband a few more times during his work weeks. The menu is large with plenty to choose from. So far, each order has been quick, warm, and tasty. Everything tastes fresh. My 6 year old daughter who is very picky loves their beans and demanded next time she will just order a plate... More

Only place to get your money's worth and stomach full, with homemade pasole, on weekends in Woodland, California. Staff are very helpful and service is quick. They have menudo available too but I love the yummy tasking pasole. Just like my grandma used to make.

The decor is comfortable. Large booths, two dining rooms, able to accommodate a large party. Our service was friendly and attentive. Great AC on a 100 degree Woodland day. The restaurant features about 100 numbered items on the menu. We wondered if they could handle that breadth. Such as fish and octopus soup. We both had the taco plate with... More

Their steak is the best, also breakfast... just about anything is good here. It's real Mexican food, not the weird Tex-Mex or the weird Mex-Fresh stuff.

Really wanted to like El Charro, specially after reading all the other reviews. But just couldn't warm up to this restaurant. Decor is off-putting, high ceilings, a mix of booths and tables that has a kind of waiting room feel to it. Service was good, not great. I usually order something with pork, either al pastor or carnitas as a... More

Took our soccer team to eat here after playing in the State Cup in the Woodland Community Center. The restaurant has a lot of seating and were able to make up one long table, despite already having a large family group seated. Full marks to the staff for staying cheerful when taking orders from the boys and separating everything onto... More

Located on Main Street, Woodland is one of my favorite Mexican resturants. El Charro is not some weird fusion chefs attempt at cullinary art. Where you got some sort of seared free range rabbit taco in a lime butter cream freiche. Nor is it a South Park style Casa Bonita, over the top waterfall cliff diver and mariachi band amusement...
