Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We tried the Rojo posole huevos rancheros topped with pork chile verde, shredded beef taco, salsa.& fresh tortilla chips, Horchata & jamica drinks . Everything had very good flavor and...delicious. Service was also good.. Overall a great experience.. A plus is the music ..oldies but goodies.. Small local family business.More

Stopped in for their fabulous chicken tortilla soup. Amazing! Just the right proportions of chicken, tortilla strips, avocado and chilis. Just don’t splash it on your clothing—the chili oil stains. Great service too!

Homey Mexican! Quaint store-front environment where it seems the locals eat. Mom and pop Mexican. We were waved to come in by customers when we stopped to look in the window. Service was very good and personable. Definitely prefer the wet burrito over the dry....Good prices for good Mexican.More

Art for sale in the walls, 1960s jazz playing, and a super chicken tortillas soup. Very attentive staff. Loved it.

This place could use a good cleaning, even the menus felt a little greasy. Food, however, was delicious and service was very friendly.

If you want a true mom n pops operation that had wholesome Mexican home cooking this is the spot .... don’t expect fast food service your order will take time as it’s made to order (even the hand made tortillas) , so expect to take...your time , order drinks and Meal at the same time or you will take some time to get the orders going .More

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, the food is actually pretty good,my concern is the wait time to receive your order. I certainly understand that good meal prep takes time, but the wait time here is excessive,I’ve heard the same concern from others. When you...have a limited lunch time or dinner, this is not the place to visit,if your in no hurry at all,I recommend.More

While eating at Zumaya's you will served by the most excellent staff, and you will be served the best tasting food. The restaurant is not that big, but to me that makes the experience even better. The Enchiladas are my favorite plate, and its best...served with an ice cold margarita. Thank you Zumaya's staff for providing the best tasting Mexican food and service.More

We stopped here to eat after morning service from church. The parking was good. The atmosphere very warming the place made you feel like it's Grandma's house. My wife ordered the chicken tacos taquitos. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was good. This is definitely...a do-over highly recommended after churchMore

This unpretentious Mexican eatery across the Doubletree hotel makes its mark for the delicious food and great service. Enchiladas with either Chipotle or Mole Poblano sauces are out of this world. The shrimp with chipotle are magnificent. The beef with mole equally outstanding as is...the chicken and cheese quesadillas with mole. Carnitas were outstanding as well and as advertised with great chicharrón. The tortilla soup for starters is amazing even when you order a small one. Mechiladas are great like a Bloody Mary made with beer. Service was simply super friendly. We need to repeat here over and over.More

Having moved from the area and now with the task of finding a site for family to gather for a meal and togetherness after attending a funeral at Rose Hills in Whittier, Ca. seemed a stressful task. However, finding Zumayas was a blessing. The staff...worked with us and and was able to accommodate our group. We had a wonderful and delicious menu to select from. Next time I'm in the area it's going to be a definite stop for a great meal.More

After a late evening flight and check-in at the hotel in Whittier, we saw Zumayas across the street. We were lucky to get there before closing (10pm). I ordered the Zumatas Mojado, half red, half green chilies on a burrito. My buddy ordered. the enchilada....The portions were more than a meal. I am a big eater and could not finish my food. My buddy ate all of his. We got a few margaritas, which were delicious, but could have used a little more alcohol. The complimentary chips and salsa (spicy) was good. Service was friendly and efficient.More
