The restaurant is nice and cool decorated. They could maybe dim the light a bit. The menu has everything a sushi lover crave + also some other lovely dishes if you prefer other things than raw fish.

It is New Years Eve. I leave Beverly Hills for Westlake Village, counter-intuitively leaving the “heart of the Entertainment industry” on the year’s most festive night. Why? Two words… Chef Masa. Within the last month I have visited the Four Season Hotel Westlake Village 3 of my last 4 weekends. Many reasons, I fell in love with the resort, the... More

This was my third visit to Onyx. I was very impressed the first time, but it seems to have suffered a significant decline in food quality. The Diver Scallops were drenched in a thick sauce that did not enhance the shellfish. The White Dragon Roll was covered with what looked and tasted like bottled Russian dressing. The fish in my... Food was mediocre and definitely NOT worth the exorbitant prices - not just because of the the quality but also because of the small portion sizes and taste. We ordered... Wagyu beef: not tender, tasted too "game-y" (not like how Wagyu should taste). Scallops: good but sooooo small (2 for $22 and they were the silver dollar-sized ones, NOT the... More

Like all Four Seasons, everything is well done, from decor of the room, to service, to food. Not inexpensive, but really high quality. It definitely has the "feel" of a Four Seasons dining room and that is all good

Excellent service, as expected in a 4 Seasons, nice ambience, and delicious food. Portions are on the small side, but the flavors are spot on - very fresh! We enjoyed an excellent selection of sushi as well as a couple of rolls and the miso cod which came wrapped in a leaf. Cocktails were good, and they validated our parking... More

WE decided to try Onyx only because of the Travelzoo 2 for 1 coupon. I'm glad that we had dinner there but felt underwhelmed by the portion size. I'm wondering if the kitchen knows which guest is using coupons because the size of the Miso Cod was extremely small. The specialty rolls were great, but not only if you are... More

Onyx has a very elegant inventive menu with a Japanese theme. It's not a sushi bar and too many people are comparing it to their favorite sushi place. Sushi bars are more focused on the quality and variety of fish with local twists in rolls and presentation. Onyx serves sushi but it's not the feature of the restaurant. Now, the... More

We go to ONYX at least once a month. I love when I get the coupons for the 2 for 1 deal here. It includes 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 drinks and a dessert. Our favorite appetizers are the rolls. I just had the Hamachi Ponzu and the I always order the Wagyu hot stone. Desserts change. There use to... More

This is the best sushi I have had in the whole Southern California area. The service and ambiance is fantastic and this is in a hotel, it is a beautiful hotel so parking is easy with either valet or self parking available.

Description
Specializing in fresh seafood and sushi, ONYX at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village offers delectable Asian fare. Backlit wall panels of semi-precious stones, such as carnelian and onyx, create a dramatic dining atmosphere. Bamboo floors, Japanese antiques and chandeliers grace the main dining room, while silk lanterns hanging over the sushi bar give an exotic feel. Watch while the freshest Japanese delicacies are being prepared, or sip a drink at the bar, where colourful aquatic creatures live in a double-sided, 2,000-gallon (7,571-litre) saltwater aquarium. A variety of sushi, sashimi and specialty hand rolls complement delectable Asian-influenced seafood creations. The menu offers many options to sample a variety of dishes, intended to be shared at the table. Also pairing well with Japanese cuisine is an extensive wine list featuring choices from California and around the world.
