Standing in the middle of Truckee my husband points up to the mountain side and says I want to eat there. So, we made the short hike up the hill to the Cottonwood Restaurant. And I'm glad we did. We asked to sit out on...More

We really enjoyed our dinner here. It's a bit pricey but worth the price. The view of Truckee from the deck is fantastic and service was great.

We really like this place. Everything we try is good, but the ceasar salad may be the best I've ever had. Sit on the deck if you can. Staff seemed to appreciate that we were there.

In my opinion, the best restaurant in Truckee. It sits on a little hill overlooking downtown. So the view can't be beat night when all the lights come on. The food is consistently perfect and the have a varied menu plus nightly specials. A little...More

Good food, nice view, especially on the deck. The service is good and many times there is live music on the deck in the evenings. If you buy wine ahead of time at The Pour House in Truckee, they waive any corkage fee. Pretty sweet...More

Cottonwoods holds a special place for us as it is where our rehearsal dinner was held. We went to celebrate 9 years of marriage and were beyond disappointed. The outdoor bar patio was lovely, and our waitress was great. Unfortunately my steak was over cooked,...More

We come to the Reno area once a year and always head to Truckee for an afternoon of window shopping. Cottonwood is always where we eat. Reserve your table near sunset to see the lights come on in the town below. Creative food, fun beverages,...More

I'd like to thank you for hosting us for my brothers rehearsal dinner. You were very easy to communicate with and the service was fantastic. The food was amazing and very flexible (for our gluten frees) and the setting of course amazing. Thanks all!

We had to ask for a waiter to take our order. The halibut was overlooked and barely warm. We ordered the pesto linguini special. My husband could not eat it. I asked waitress if we had received the right entree because we could neither see...More

Cottonwood has been a fixture of Truckee's vibrant dining scene for 25 years, and was voted North Lake Tahoe's "Best Fine Dining Restaurant." Housed in a historical ski lodge, constructed in 1928 to serve as a warming hut for the town of Truckee's ski and toboggan hill, the restaurant is a virtual museum of historic photos and artifacts. With spectacular views of downtown Truckee from the Dining Room or expansive Deck, Cottonwood is the restaurant of choice for Truckee locals and visitors alike. A diverse menu consists of eclectic menu of steaks, pastas, seafood and vegetarian dishes using fresh organic produce and sustainable meats and seafood whenever possible, complimented by a full bar and adventuresome wine list. Home to a vibrant acoustic music scene, Cottonwood features free live music every Thursday and Friday nights, and features a nightly Happy Hour until 6pm. Groups and special events are welcome.
